Re: Recently picked up a VO OM 2-player Arcade Machine

yup there are a few different Model 3 games that require different roms for english but most simply need the region changed on the main board by way of the secret service menu code, including VOOT. the code works on both 5.2 and 5.4 I'm fairly certain that 5.66 is Japanese only though. NAOMI games c...

Re: Recently picked up a VO OM 2-player Arcade Machine

So after all this time I finally Installed the Model 3 boards in my OMG Twin unit. had to install new power supplies and re-wire all of the power wiring to make it happen but it's done. https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/13129440_498939930316762_1208830126_n.jpg I also discovered ther...

VOOT Control Panel and other art Scans

I had picked up one of these a while back and recently scanned it for someone. If anyone is interested in using the scans to clean up and make printable art you're free to use them: http://web-nine.com/files/voot_candy_panel_scans.zip I also have or can make scans of any of the following: -OMG Candy...

Net-Booting of NAOMI VOOT 5.66 is now possible

The NAOMI ROM for VOOT was finally properly hacked for Net-Booting (this means you can play it without a cart). Here's a video of it running on my setup: https://www.instagram.com/p/BEMy-4zTGKY I threw it in my Typing of the Dead cab just to test it out: https://scontent-lga3-1.cdninstagram.com/t51....

Re: Input Lag

some very good points that I hadn't considered. Also interesting about the CW in VO, but it makes sense since they game would need to know if you're trying to fire LW or RW separate or if you're firing CW and just haven't pulled the 2nd trigger yet.

Re: Input Lag

IMO measuring input lag in the game code is moot, everyone playing that game is going to experience the same amount of lag so does it really matter if Killer Instinct has lower lag than Ultra Street Fighter IV? I suppose it's beneficial for cross-platform comparison but ultimately you're always goin...

Re: Parts Availability

the Sanwa JLJ-PL2-V8 seem to be the best available out of what you can still potentially buy new and I believe that's what Hori uses for the bases in the 360/PS3 twin sticks. unfortunately the grips are completely different and the Sanwa grips look like crap IMO. These are also crazy expensive I usu...

Re: Virtual-On Come Back Started?

OT 360 is up... but Force 360 is not... Wasn't there an OT Arcade site as well? I recall seeing a blurb about the R360 variation of the arcade cabinet and being really sad when the site when down because there was NO other information on this anywhere else on the web. if it comes back up I really wa...

Re: Difference between Hori Sticks and actual arcade sticks

I've taken the grips off of all the sticks on my Force panel for cleaning and I actually found a few variations the restrictor plate is slightly different from the one in my pictures, it uses less structural material, also the shafts are different where they have square sections where the bolt goes ...

last panel ended at 17000 here's another panel from the same seller:

no bids yet it will probably end low as there's a cut in the panel.

Re: Difference between Hori Sticks and actual arcade sticks

I got my panels in today. I can confirm that all 4 sticks (or at least the grips and the buttons) are identical to the one I took apart. https://igcdn-photos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xaf1/t51.2885-15/11311591_979804298750853_1702153792_n.jpg also an interesting note 3 of the 4 dust washers have "...

Re: Bran new, never Played VOOT Twin Unit

Weird, the original Soul Calibur ran on Namco System 12 which is PS1 based, I recall Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast being considered one of the console's best looking games (heck it still looks pretty good today), I can't imagine anyone complaining about the improved graphics.

Re: Bran new, never Played VOOT Twin Unit

Well it's not on ebay any longer, was taken down a week ago. It didn't sell on ebay but it could be that the seller took the ad down to complete an off-ebay transaction and avoid the ebay fees. I highly doubt it, it's been listed and ended without bids 4 or 5 times now, he keeps mis-listing it in t...

Re: Bran new, never Played VOOT Twin Unit

So how hard would it be to get Ver.5.66 installed in this thing? Difficult.... you'd have to swap out the monitors as Model 3 used 25K (Medium resolution) monitors and NAOMI uses 31K (VGA resolution) monitors. This is the reason I'm attempting to convert my OMG cab to 5.2 instead of 5.66 as Model 2...

Re: Difference between Hori Sticks and actual arcade sticks

I should also note that Gundam Battle Operating Simulator seems to use the same sticks as Force: There's a panel up for sale right now: http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k188659350 Sega made this game in 2005 so it might make for a slightly better chance at sourcing the sticks from that g...
