Re: Virtual-On Twin-Stick Mapping Guide

index's twinstick config is specifically meant to be used with the crowdfunded twinstick, which means that's the only config you're going to get. it's unfortunate, but it's almost an afterthought for that game so a type B config won't be put in. They could have easily made it so you only get the ne...

Re: Virtual-On Twin-Stick Mapping Guide

I'm working on a DIY mapping guide for Virtual-On Twin Sticks. It can be found here . It's a little early right now, but the eventual plan is for it to be the place to go for modding or basically rebuilding home Virtual-On sticks from old Saturn/Dreamcast Twin Sticks, and knowing both how to map th...

Re: Need some advice with sega saturn twinstick modding

Hi, yes I still have the same email address, lol. Wow, I have to try & remember what I did. Yes I did get them back on & the stick works great although I haven't used it in a while. From memory I think I had to push really hard down & eventually I could get the clip on. Sorry, that's ab...

Re: Seimitsu LS-56 to fix TwinStick ?

I think the SS TS shafts are a different diameter that the ones from the DC TS so the LS-56 spring catches won't work. I don't know if the LS-32 spring catches would work, either. They're also a different design entirely, which I talk about here: https://www.oratan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t...

Re: Need some advice with sega saturn twinstick modding

You think that's strong?? You should try the arcade sticks!! Anyway, for removing the e-ring on the arcade sticks, I first push the spring down enough to grip the e-ring with needle nose pliers. Then, with the panel on the floor and the stick horizontal to the floor, I use one hand to hold the actu...

Re: Seimitsu LS-56 to fix TwinStick ?

Can you explain what "this method" is? :) I'm not sure if Fredo will reply. He followed the guide posted above and replaced the spring catch with a washer or half of a metal bobbin. This does work but has two main downsides. First, wear and tear is increased on other parts (metal versus p...

Re: Saturn to Xbox 360 adapter (Saturn Twin Stick on Xbox)?

Do I need to disassemble the grips (I'd rather not, lol, but if you feel they should be lubed I will totally do it), or is the spring catch part of the stick assembly below, like where the square gates are? (below the switches, near the actuators? or is it the Start button?) The spring catch is in ...

Re: Saturn to Xbox 360 adapter (Saturn Twin Stick on Xbox)?

It is pretty straightforward. Look for any plastic that rubs against other plastic and lube both. On the DC TS the weakest link is the spring catch (it's yellow or green, depending on the TS revision, and hard to miss). I would imagine it is similar for the SS TS. The grease can be applied liberall...

Re: Saturn to Xbox 360 adapter (Saturn Twin Stick on Xbox)?

I haven't heard of any such adapter. Saturn or Dreamcast Twin Sticks can last a while as long as they are properly maintained. This means making sure they are always well lubricated, and occasionally washing off the old grease. I use and recommend lithium grease for lubrication and electronics-safe...

Re: Another Quickshot/Madcatz360 twin stick build COMPLETED!

When I modded a Genesis controller for Xbox 360 I had different problems due to some interferences of the Genesis chip, so I simply cut the tracks of the PC to isolate the chip from the buttons and common ground. So if some problems appear, you know what to do. Nice job ! Awesome, and thanks! I thi...

Re: Another Quickshot/Madcatz360 twin stick build COMPLETED!

Nice twin stick Project. This is one of the cleaner looking Quick shot mod projects I seen yet. One question, how did you keep the only NES chip on the Quick Shot from interfering with the Xbox 360 PCB? Thanks! Well, I did see someone had an issue with that chip, but it hasn't affected me at all. K...

Re: Madcatz retro stick problem

Well, as far as I'm concerned, i'm pretty generous with the glue, the more you put, the less probable it will break. About the temperature, I think that as far as the glue melts, it is hot enough. So as far as the cold mode can melt down the glue (and if it couldn't, it would be pretty useless), I ...
