Re: MD/DC/VA MagFest - VO:OT & VO:F
I don't have two 360s, but I'll be sure to bring the full network setup and VOOT complement along on Wednesday or Thursday. I can bring my 360 if needed. Unlike the sticks, it'd surely fit in a carry on bag. If possible, would anyone be trying to record these VO matches? If we're using 360s, maybe ...

Good to hear. I don't have two 360s, but I'll be sure to bring the full network setup and VOOT complement along on Wednesday or Thursday. Maybe I can stake out a good spot in the console room.

Re: MD/DC/VA MagFest - VO:OT & VO:F
I look at the tournament as a good opportunity to trade contact info with other VOOT players who will be there for the weekend. :) If you bring your 360 sticks, we can try to set up a dedicated head2head VOOT station for the weekend. I can bring at least one 360, network hubs & cables and possib...

Re: MD/DC/VA MagFest - VO:OT & VO:F
GReat to see such interest! Is one of you SirMeeps on the MAGFest boards? He's stepped up to schedule a VOOT tourney at MAGFest, but is currently limited to the staff's DC copy with no sticks. <sad face> I'll bring my DC and link cable to help, but I'm not I'll have time to remod my 360 sticks to Un...

That's one of the reasons I'm trying to connect with other VO players before hand. Not only is the incentive for hauling twinsticks in low when there's no guarantee of other VO players, but we can also plan and help with transit/restoration/etc.

Re: MD/DC/VA MagFest - VO:OT & VO:F
Thanks Nick. There's a few VA VO fan who posts here from time to time. I've brought my VOOT setup before, but single play is pointless at MAGfest.
Maybe we can pool some van money and cajole the VOOM cabinet up this year!

MD/DC/VA MagFest - VO:OT & VO:F
When VO:OT first launched for the 360, I modded my old Saturn Sticks thanks to the exceptional help and support of this forum. While I had some great XBL matches in the first months, those sticks have seen little use since. I'd like to change that. There's a great gaming con that happens around New ...

MAGFest - Alexandria, VA
Zero notice on this. I found this reasonable gaming convention (MAGfest - magfest.org ) in my backyard, and brought my 360 VOOT setup (with one set of twinsticks) down. If any of you Oratan folks are in the area, I'd love to play some local matches! I also have two DCs, VGA adapters, 2 VO:OT discs a...

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
If you have access to some older sticks, I'd say it's worth it. There's a small level of challenge, but the **** tolerance is pretty high. I am a shaky-handed old man and it turned out ok.

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
It's certainly not cleanly reversible in the style of Menhtol's DC mod. I have removed the Saturn PCB, and had to clip the pin headers from internal wires. That said, I attached eyelets to all of those internal wires and connected them to a barrier strip (that's what's under the big mess of wires), ...

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
I can still pull out the PCB and add the special button at a later date. I wanted to get used to playing with sticks again to see what spot would be accessible. I have a wire already attached to BACK on the PCB, coiled and waiting if I decide to add it later.
Thanks for the kind words.

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
IN the end I couldn't settle on where I wanted the Special button to be placed, so I just skipped it. Let this be an object lesson of how bad a player I am. I did add two 24mm buttons to the side of the sticks as my Start and Guide, so at least I can navigate through the 360 menus without having to ...
Re: why!?
Thanks for asking about this. I was about to close up my Saturn sticks and hadn't considered doing any maintinence to the sticks and switches.

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
I wound up using a barrier strip between the 360 pad and the wires from the Saturn controller, which takes a bit more space but let me methodically test every connection as I made it. I finished all of the wiring tonight and was able to play around in Training mode. Not to drill my new button holes ...

Re: Dreamcast Twin Stick Repair
Certainly the base of the DC twin Sticks looks a lot like the LS-56 in this video.

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
I will admit to trying to head butt the middle button in the arcade at least once. The ideo of a jack and external button is appealing, even if it's not a foot pedal. I find the Dreamcast placement a bit far for my thumbs to stretch. I'm considering the lower left or right, so that I could po...

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
Before I start I should say that while I have a great sentimental attachment to my Saturn Twin Sticks, it's all down to the fact that my wife watched my ebay habits enough to import them as a Christmas gift a few years back. I sold my Saturn years ago, and with the arrival of VO:OT on XBLA, I don't ...

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
Alas, I wound up getting one of the newer-NEW Madcatz pads. Which isn't a huge problem since VO:OT doesn't need to use the triggers, but I haven't found a labeled picture of the reverse side of the PCB to show where the RC and LC contacts are. If I had a multimeter, is this something I could test?
