Re: Dodoray Thread

Last time you were at my crib, I noticed you like to use his side dash attack. It's not as useful as you might think, the balls are too slow to do any good. Keep practicing withthe flamethrower, try throwing his drill out first and anticipating your opponent's flight path. Don't forget, the crouchin...

Can you elaborate on this? What is turbo rotation and how is it performed?

Re: Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram Beginner's Guide

http://voot.wikia.com/wiki/Virtual-On:_ ... ngram_Wiki Anyone who believe they have solid knowledge of their VRs should fill the wiki. I edited somebody else's Specineff guide and it probably needs some tidying. Someone proofread it pls. So far the only contributed wikis are Cypher, Specineff, Temj...

Re: Need Some Advice

Thanks for the advice, I typically use BBC as my main news feed and Wikipedia as my primary source of mental stimulation. As for self-improvement, I'm going for my CPA right now, the average study time necessary to pass (need a 75 on each exam, 4 exams total) is around 300 hours, but I usually save ...

Need Some Advice

This is way off topic, but I figure you guys can help me out on this one... We've all seen the movie Office Space, right? All the lower level workers consumed in a mess of cubicles, ass-kissing, and long periods of boredom... I work in a very similar environment. The people (boss included) are all v...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Can we do this every night by any chance? :P Haven't tried the spectator mode yet, can you switch off POV's like in observer mode?? As usual, I'll be on tonight so hit me up and we'll get a party going. I'm especially interested in watching menthol's grysvok vs aniking's raiden ie clash of the tita...

How fitting I should receive the answer from the opponent who inspired the question

What do you mean by the "gamechanger?"

Re: Post your questions here

Two more questions for you guys... 1. How do you flush opponents out from behind a wall/obstacle? I guess this is really a question for other Fei players, but is there a general strategy (bombs aside) to lure people out? 2. How do you handle someone who is playing purely evasive after landing a sing...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Good games all around, Menthol I especially enjoyed the party w/ Japanese players...too bad they weren't bilingual. Just got the first red rank medal (brig general) so finding games/receiving challenges has become significantly easier 8-)

Re: Post your questions here

I'm confused.

When I use the standard controls, I seem to be able to walk a lot faster than when using the twinstick type A/B. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, is there a practical use for the dashing melee? It seems pretty hard to connect with...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Menthol, I wanted to get some more games in with you last night, I would've joined your party but I got caught up in a long conversation w/ a buddy. Between that double napalm and onslaught of missiles, your Grys-Vok turned my mech into a crispy-fried Fei  On a side note, I played against a 5-s...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Had a run in with CrouchingLiger (NigelK420 I think?) in ranked today. Didn't go so well for me. It was close at times, but his Fei is definitely on point. Sorry I didn't jump in the Live room today fellas, but I was on a mission to make my Sergeant. I was successful! :D If anyone is interested, my...

Re: Share your VO experience or history

So yeah long story. Haha. Currently am a terrible player apparently, can only win with Grys-Vok. I'm just complete trash otherwise, it's really upsetting. I'll completely stuff a Armphad-B in CC somehow and get pumped so switch to any other robot, and just get destroyed. Any other Chicago people? P...

Re: Share your VO experience or history

Super Just Games before it shut down about five years ago. Wait, I thought Super Just Games became Nickel City Northbrook. :?: Also, where are you located? I never thought I would meet a Chicago VO player ever. You're right, but Super Just Games underwent a downgrade upon becoming Nickel City. They...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Heh Deltastrike and Dave trashed me a couple of times again. I think I could stand a chance against Specineff in general as long as I keep aware of the CW waves but I'm just confused as all hell with Bal. And there seems to be a variance in skill and playstyle with all the Bal players I've faced as...

Re: Share your VO experience or history

My first VOOT experience was at a Super Just Games before it shut down about five years ago. Had no idea what I was doing, but the colour, pace, and general style of the game had huge appeal. Ironically, I played as Temjin in the arcade, who I now avoid with a passion because freakin everyone uses h...
