Re: Looking to pick up MARZ and OMG. Anything I should know?

The PS2 OMG is the best version of the game you can buy. Sega goes through such pains as replicating the odd fifty-something frames per second and original resolution. It also contains both the music tracks from the original Model 2 version of the game and the Sega Saturn release, though I honestly ...

Re: Nusakan's Dreamcast Twinstick Mod.

Congrats on a successful mod! Not a bad idea to keep all the original parts inside the case since they won't get lost that way. Since you have zipties there, why not tie the DC cable up too (gently)? And maybe you did it already, but it would be wise to insulate the JST connector solder joints. When...

Re: My Dreamcast Twinsticks Mod

Thin wires were actually the easier to solder for me. The thick ones had the problem of pulling off easier and being not nearly as plyable. I think the button would be quite elegant if mounted on the VMU hole. I considered that before discovering the Japanese pad-dongle method. Sadly, they don't sel...

My Dreamcast Twinsticks Mod

With the help of MentholMoose and lots of people here at the Oratan forum, I have completed my Dreamcast Twin Stick mod! It's a first-time attempt at hardware modding for me and I learned how to solder just for this project, so I'm rather glad it actually succeeded. DCTS000.jpg The mod itself is Men...

Re: I NEED SCANS - TO 3D PROYECTS

Hi, Don't know if you still need this, but here you go: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RM3CUGCN Inside are all the pages of the instructions booklet of the Japanese MARZ that have any VRs in them. I also included a few pages of the wordy, boring stuff in case you wanted to see what those looked like. ...

How to include pictures in posts?

Can anyone tell me how to make posts with pictures in them?
I'd like to share a finished project with everyone here.
Simple question really.

Much thanks!

Re: Post your questions here

For the problem of flushing people out from cover, I suppose Fei Yen is fast and nimble enough to close in and get behind the obstacle. The thing is to hold off on attacking once the person has a defensive advantage like that. Concentrate on moving wide so the enemy will have to jump cancel to lock ...

Re: Nes QuickShots on metal Briefcase.

Also, looking at this makes me think of the old VO-OMG for the PC, where it had the option to use two two-button joysticks as Twin Sticks. Of course, PCs only had those silly game ports at the time for controllers and you needed to buy a splitter, which was pretty rare back in the days before handy ...

Re: Soldering onto PCBs

I just got home to test the START. Looks like messing up the back one kills the one on the front too. The ground part works - of course, or else the whole pad is shot - but since START isn't used for much anyway, I thought I can just let it be. I thought about exposing the copper traces and connecti...

Soldering onto PCBs

Thank you for everybody's help so far for my Dreamcast Twin Stick mod. I had them up and working this morning when I found that the PAUSE (START) button wasn't responding. It turned out to be a bad joint I made on the Microsoft wired pad and I tried to fix it by adding a touch of solder and flux. Th...

Thanks guys, But looks like I need more help now. I found this: http://www.joystickvault.com/data/507/medium/bb070wiredfront.jpg and this: http://www.joystickvault.com/data/507/medium/bb070wiredrear.jpg By using a piece of wire, I've confirmed that the pad does indeed seem to have five or so sets of...

Finding where to solder on PCBs

Hi everyone, I'm making two sets of mod kits for the Dreamcast Twin Stick and one involves a cheapo Gamestop pad (which was not that cheap) and my question is what way is there for me to find the right spots to solder my wires onto? The official pads have been mapped to death, but these cheap pads a...

Yes, it is a common ground controller - one of the later Microsoft wired pads.

A question about controller ground wiring

Hi everyone,

I'm starting my work on a DC Twin Stick conversion based on MentholMoose's helpful guide (much thanks).
The one thing I want to make sure is what do I do with all the grounds in the stick unit itself?
Do I just daisy-chain them with wires and lead them back to the common ground?

Thanks.
