Re: This Weekend 6/28 Online Oratan Tournament 4am PST 7am E

The only possibly new player in top 8 was cure chiba, I do remember him being around for a while though? Katensasosu did play in the tournament (and many others), but got eliminated early on. With players like SwordedShepherd, Aniking, katenasasosu, seabass etc. training with us and sharing/talking ...

Re: Japanese Virtual-On 20th anniversary tournament - VOOT,

So does anyone else want to join in on commentary for the restreams? I guess skype group chat would be the most convenient for most peole. Oratan tournament tomorrow starts at 1PM JST / 4AM GMT (12h from now). OMG tournament at the same time the next day. I barely know anything about Moongate so my ...

Re: Japanese Virtual-On 20th anniversary tournament - VOOT,

Maybe we should just set up a restream with english commentary? Not many watchers but a 20th anniversary tournament certainly deserves one! I can stream at least (with Skype or similar for voice). May need to get a premium nico account for decent video quality. I could give some commentary on VOOT, ...

Japanese Virtual-On 20th anniversary tournament - VOOT, OMG

Will be held on March 28-29 at Comiket SP6. http://voot-cmksp.peatix.com/ http://virtual-on-omg.peatix.com/ https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B_vfOUIUYAA6qZg.png Seems this is organized by DOI-2. Probably all kinds of players showing up for this. Hoping for recordings! Was announced on the 5th of march, I...

Re: A comprehensive look at MSBS 16.33 progress.

THINGS Not a fan of the idea of triple jump. I'm assuming if you add something like that the height ceiling would be similar to OT? One of my only gripes with VOOT is that the height ceiling is too high to work with how few attacks are good for anti-air. Cypher, Angelan and to some extent other VR ...

Re: advanced techniques

Bal advanced technique dump (unfinished, I've only begun playing Bal) empty ammo into demon mines in 5.66 doing the demon mine special attack depletes all ammo of an ERL. But you can do the attack even when the right ERL has no ammo, so it's beneficial to combo into. examples: left and right legs d...

Some recent videos (not all of them) VOOT session: Zaarock[CYP] VS katenasasosu[BAL] - 2014/11/06 SuXkXUs2q60 I get blown up by a very good Bal player. I play stupidly at the start but start catching up by the end. sa0001[10/80 SP] vs Bal-Bados - 2014/12/03 1RBwbzshgxM sa0001 doing his thing. Very n...

Re: Xbox 360 online player roundup

Updated for Q2 2015. I haven't been online as much lately so it's likely that I missed some players. Feel free to post if you want to be added to the active players list, or removed from it. (I bet Schooly D is secretly playing somewhere) VO Night is still going on saturday nights. added: a65Alexis ...

Re: VR move and damage lists, with distance attenuation

Kagekiyo 'Forest' Information dump (incomplete, but will be more thorough than japanese wiki): RW RW 25% 90-70 dmg very good but need to watch ammo. very safe and big damage if you land a full gauge. can displace by positioning tip of spear. The main neutral attack cRW 25% (can chain two) 50 dmg ba...

Re: A comprehensive look at MSBS 16.33 progress.

I know that you can use Google Drive to host websites for free (just upload all the files, then set to be public as webpage). I'm not sure about what restrictions it has but I think it should work for that purpose. There are probably other ways to set it up too. Looking forward to testing stuff out!...

Re: A comprehensive look at MSBS 16.33 progress.

Sounds like the project is going very well! Very happy to see something like this. I'm assuming you're developing the input system based on Twin Sticks? Are you going to have left and right turbo attacks like VOOT? Dashes and watari dashes being significantly different between VRs sounds strange. It...

Re: Rowing and Skating

I'm not sure Cypher needs that same technique since he can just do an air dash attack to get auto-rotation. That leaves out jump attacks though, which get a much bigger difference from air rowing. Cypher jumping LW and RTLW are great attacks, if they could be rotated while air rowing like Angelan L...

Re: Rowing and Skating

Great writeup and research Porcupine, nice to see this stuff written down well in english. The japanese wikis seem to have had some basic info on it for each character but it's hard to understand with machine translation. It's worth noting for Angelan that because the rowing direction is diagonal-ba...

Re: Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors

video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crUnxIVcNco Looks great for a doujin virtual-on clone. Seems like there's infinite air actions but there are good attacks for anti-air. Dash seems to be more like Acceleration of Suguri or Gundam than VO (curves automatically instead of watari-dash). Too bad th...

Re: Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors

This looks neat. Also looking forward to video. There's no info on the game system in the about or character pages, eh. Considering it was announced three weeks before release I doubt it's a big project.. but the screenshots look promising. I've heard of one of the racing games by Project YNP being ...

Re: Virtual-On Force guide (WIP) / techniques discussion

Played with Fei-Yen VH for an hour or so today testing out stuff. low air dash RW seems super good to me actually.. with a super low dash the recovery is 0.3-0.5 seconds, while the recovery on ground dash RW is 1.5 seconds . You can shoot during the end of the recovery of the ground dash but can do ...

Re: [VOOT & VO4] Zaarock's video thread

Idk, that sounds the same as saying that not running into walls when dash attacking in VOOT is an advanced technique. Or that timing your attacks so that you end up behind walls is advanced. It's just about learning the timings for your dash attacks, which everyone will learn just by playing the gam...

Re: SEGA Has Taken a Huge Loss, Turning to Online Sales

If this makes them end up releasing VOOT on Steam that would be great. I know a lot of people who would want to play VOOT or VO4 but don't own a 360. I really don't have hopes for a new Virtual-On title at this point. But surely we'll see some good mech fighting games some time in the future. If SEG...
