Re: Official Twin Sticks displayed on Hori site
EDIT: Hmmmm...what's even possibly WORSE is that, if I'm reading the bottom of the sticks correctly, the L stick is the D pad, and the R stick is the....RIGHT STICK!?! Like as in, ANALOG STICK!?! So, this means that you're playing with half digital/half analog controls!?! This isn't an issue, since...

Re: Official Twin Sticks displayed on Hori site
I don't like the look of them much, rather bland if you ask me. You'd think for $300 they'd make something a bit aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
The sticks do look like the Sanwa sticks, and I agree Testy, the buttons seem like Seimitsu's, or a clone of some sort.

Re: Impact on 360 sales?
Hey, those of you who are Japanese or live in Japan or are in touch with someone who lives in Japan...has the the release of VOOT affected 360 system sales numbers at all? I would just think that something like an online enabled M.S.B.S. ver. 5.66 might actually be a system seller in the land of th...

Re: Fully custom VO:OT Sticks for Xbox 360, photos & work log
Thanks for the praise guys. Incidentally in regards to the artwork, it took me a little while to get it just the way I wanted. In a nutshell I started with the Virturoids and had to painstakingly remove the white background to make it transparent. The same was applied to the logos and then stuck the...

Re: Fully custom VO:OT Sticks for Xbox 360, photos & work log
I got a question, what would you recommend to those that don't have access to any of the twin sticks to use instead? You've got a couple of options, but most often than not, it'll work out more expensive than shelling out for a set of Saturn (or DC) twin sticks. Most expensive route - Get a pair of...

Now that we are full blown off topic... ....Dreamcazman, this list would like to have a word with you. ;) http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/arcade-sticks/arcade-stick-ranking/ Haha, trust you to find that! Don't know how accurate it is though. Re: Dreamcast Twin Stick Repair
Thanks for the update!! I think this is only good news. The flat part is what determines the resistance, since the spring presses against it. I don't think the tube part actually affects the feel, and is only there to hold the spring in place. That's what I was thinking, I haven't pulled apart my D...

I wouldn't say it's the best, but second best. The crown goes to the VSHG.Knoxximus wrote:Well, that didn't stop Mad Catz from making the best mass produced arcade fighting game joystick ever, now did it?

Re: Official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks ¥30,000 in November from Hori
Hori aren't really renowned for making top-of-the-line gear, they have a few shockers on the market but overall I guess they are better than Madcatz in general. I guess it just depends on what parts they are planning on using. The Hori sticks with real arcade parts (Sanwa, Seimitsu) are generally c...

Re: Official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks ¥30,000 in November from Hori
$300 is a bit rich for a controller that can only be used with one game, unless Sega are planning some sort of sequel, which would be cool. 8-) Hori aren't really renowned for making top-of-the-line gear, they have a few shockers on the market but overall I guess they are better than Madcatz in gene...

Re: Saturn vs Dreamcast Twinsticks
I forgot one major gripe about me DC sticks... I can't play them in my boxers as the metal bottom is always way too cold! Plenty of ways around this, I know. Also, I'm a little bit reluctant to mod these sticks, even via MentholMoose's reversable method, as these are now going for so much more mone...

Re: Saturn vs Dreamcast Twinsticks
Does anyone own both the Saturn and Dreamcast Twin Sticks and can therefore post a comparison? Is one built better than the other? I'd say the DC sticks are of better quality, but the average person wouldn't really tell the difference. IMO they are both pretty good, but the only thing is that the S...

Re: Using the Street Fighter IV fightpad for the Twin Stick mod?
I think using the fightpad would be easier than a traditional xbox gamepad solely for the fact that there are no analog controls or triggers to deal with. Since everything is digital, the connections should be straightforward (now I just have to figure out what things to solder). Oh yeah, I forgot ...

Fully custom VO:OT Sticks for Xbox 360, photos & work log
I have this posted over at the SRK forums , but I'll stick it here too for those that don't go there. After a long while I am pleased to announce that I have finally finished my custom Virtual On twin sticks. I have written up this work log to show the process I went through and to maybe help others...

Re: Using the Street Fighter IV fightpad for the Twin Stick mod?
You can use any 360 pad as long as it uses a common ground setup. Actually that's not entirely true, you can use the M$ controllers, but they can be a pain when it comes to the wiring. Much simpler to use a CG pad. I used a 4716 Madcatz pad (same as rebranded Gamestop pad), that's all I could get. I...

Good find, better price than what some crooks are charging.
The only trouble is that the site doesn't state what condition the sticks are in.
