Re: Saturn or DC sticks?

Menthol Moose - Could you do me a HUUGE favour? Could you please calculate the dimensions for the bases of the sticks that are used in the Saturn twin sticks? You know the bit that's below the panel that contains the microswitches. Just the depth would suffice if it's too hard to do the length and w...

Re: bro's going to Japan

Look in Akihabara for sure, there are a few good second hand shops there, called Trade if I'm not mistaken. The way the Japanese look after their stuff, most of the second hand gear will be like new. Also, check out the side streets near Akihabara. There are a heap of smaller type shops and stalls s...

Re: Need friendly advice on button colours/sizing.

I decided on yellow buttons for my sticks, I've ordered three 24mm buttons, plus I also got a 30mm just in case I need it. btw, does anyone know what the name of the font is that's used on the panel that I posted a picture of? Specifically the START wording. The font on the top, ie ORATORIO TANGRAM ...

Re: It's April

I already had my DC, but I bought a modchip and the JPN version of VO:OT from Lik-sang when they were around. I got my twin sticks from a local import shop sometime after for $150AUD, then sold them on eBay for twice what I paid! Then I picked up a brand spanking new pair of twin sticks when I was i...

Re: Anybody have a 360 Remote? Any use for Twin Stick Modding?

AFAIK, the remote will only operate while in the dashboard (download content, watch a movie, stuff like that).

No quadrant light will light up when you are only using the remote and if you try to start a game it will immediately ask to connect a controller.

Outrun has to come out first, that's due on the 15th (I think) then VO:OT sometime after it.

Re: Need friendly advice on button colours/sizing.

Thanks MM, it does seem a bit odd with the DC sticks, Sega went with a 30mm button instead of a 24mm one like the arcade, but I guess that's only something they can answer. :? I'll do a bit more thinking, I might end up going with a 24mm button instead. Oh btw, you don't happen to have, or know wher...

Re: Saturn or DC sticks?

Here are my measurements for the VER.5.2 versus city panel: Panel layout: | a | b | c | d | e | Measurements: a = e = 32mm c = 24mm b = d = 92mm Calculations: midpoint a to c = midpoint c to e = 120mm midpoint a to e = 240mm In case it's not clear, "a" and "e" are the holes for ...

Need friendly advice on button colours/sizing.

I'm in the process of working out what I'll need for my custom twin sticks base that I'm building. I'm down to deciding which Sanwa buttons I should use and would like some input from fellow VO:OT players to help me in my decision. I originally decided to use three buttons on the base, have an OBSN3...

Re: Saturn or DC sticks?

In that case, what do you plan on basing placement off of? For example, if you want the "special" button inbetween the sticks, do you want the arcade mesurments? I actually have the mesurments of the distance between the 2 sticks, and the "start" button between them, which I use...

Re: Saturn or DC sticks?

Personally, I would avoid modding/hacking pieces of gaming history that cost $100 roughly apiece. I would go my route an build from scratch...re-using the sticks themselves however isn't entirely out of the question I guess... I would also pick a better casing....but eh, to each their own after all...

Re: Saturn or DC sticks?

Guys, so in regards to modding a Saturn or DC twin sticks for 360 use, extra buttons would most likely have to be installed, but which one's are really needed, or are they all essential? According to the button mapping that 60Hz guy put up on Gamefaqs, you'll need the back button for 'Special', you'...

Re: Virtual On Logos & other Hi-res images

I had a brain storm last night. Something in the back of my mind was telling me that I had some VO:OT images that I found (which feels like eons) a long time ago and which I thought were lost in the deep, dark corners of my PC. I searched and 'Aha!' I found them! I compiled the ones I have and stuck...

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress

Um, menthol, that dosen't look like a modded set of saturn twinsticks, that looks like a heavily modded HARP or MASS fighting stick. The base reminds me of my Tekken 5 stick, but in white, a mirrored plate (yes, thats shiny mirrored metal, whatever kind of metal it is), and........damn, I want it ^...

Those sticks don't look like the normal Saturn/DC or even the VO:OT arcade sticks. The base of the sticks look like JLW's too, or very similar.
