Re: 1st Annual Oratan.com Winter Classic
Why is Raiden Allowed even considered a category? Is there something I'm not aware of? (Not that I'm complaining.) I'm just having some fun with the fact that I hate Raiden. VR switching is allowed like in other western tournaments? Lots of people online recently, maybe there'll be a good turnout! ...

Gauging interest in a new tournament
(also posted in the facebook group ) Seems like Porcupine and Co. are still active, and are participating in Japanese tournaments. It's been a long time since we've had a tournament of our own, mostly due to lack of interest. Do we have enough people willing to participate in a new tournament? There...

Re: Japan Online Tournament/Meeting Announced... On Short No
Is there a different link to the bracket? I can't get that link to work for me. Also, any videos up? Nice work taking on Japan. I couldn't be there since I was traveling for the holidays. Maybe next time I'll jump in, though I'm always worried that I'll steal a win from someone way better than me du...

Facebook group
I took the liberty of creating a Facebook group for Virtual-On players. I think it will be easier to get peoples' attention for upcoming events or VOOT nights through there than here. I think it'd work especially well for "hey I'm getting online, anyone want to play RIGHT NOW?" notices. ht...

Re: Tower Challenge
That is an interesting idea. I could see a situation where the tower and rules are laid out in advance in Japanese and posted wherever those guys convene. I'd even volunteer to stream. Unfortunately I can't think of many Japanese players who are still active and would be interested. And does Moose k...

Re: Summer Jam
I'd really like to come and check this out, but I really don't have a means of getting myself to PA despite being so close (NY). Heck, No one really cared about VO at Vector Strike and everyone was just waiting for Gundam. To me, VO was pretty much just an opening act to people despite the great pl...

I'll be there!
Question: what are the rules for choosing a character at the beginning of a match? I understand that the loser of a match can change his character, but what about going into it? If we lose and get knocked into a lower bracket, can we change characters for our next match?

Re: SoCal tournament? Or something?
I can only speak to prescriptions for VOOT: - The only one who might be worth banning would be Ajim, simply because he's unlockable. But if for some reason you're confident he's available on the box we'll be playing on, and every player will be able to select him, you can leave him in. He's pretty f...

Re: SoCal tournament? Or something?
Hah. I do not and have never played Force. And I don't think Menthol has, either. I just figured if we're at the same event we might as well team up and represent SydVOC.

Getting stuff on my VMUs
I'm very interested in getting the replays from the Virtual On Archive dump (as well as some other files) onto my VMUs so I can watch them. I downloaded and burned Dream Explorer and it seems to be working fine. I also burned a disc with some of the VOA replays on it, but the explorer can't seem to ...

SoCal tournament? Or something?
Saw this on Twitter: https://twitter.com/IEBattleGrounds/status/402267132756361216 The people putting it on, IE-Battlegrounds , apparently put on fighting game tournaments at arcades in the SoCal area. The tweet mentions VOOT, FORCE, and some (new?) Gundam game. We'll have to see if they have cabine...

I love you.MentholMoose wrote:If they do release a new VO, it will probably be MARZ 2, VO: Card Battle, Hatsune Miku: Project VO, or something similar.
My guess is, if something happens, it will be figurine/re-release related.

Re: VOOT tournament at PAX East
This particular tournament was at PAX Prime last weekend. The tournament was on XBLA 5.66. No one brought any Twin Sticks. A couple of people used the TS control scheme, but they got knocked out early. I overheard part of a conversation that I believe implied VOOT tournaments are regular occurrences...

I think there were 13 people. I did indeed win. I didn't recognize anyone from the internet scene, unfortunately.
