Re: Buying items from Japan
A forwarding service I've heard of is Tenso. The only reason I know about them is because I needed an address for a Japanese PSN account, but I also plan on buying some C87 stuff that only ships inside of Japan sometimes soon. I'll let you know how it goes when I do.

Have some cement and putty ready. I didn't cover a lot of seams fully.

Re: Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors
Damn, this game looks mad budget :P
Movement and camera-wise it looks more like a 1v1 version of Extreme VS than Virtual-On.
I'll probably pick it up sooner or later, curious about control schemes more than anything.

Re: Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors
No videos yet, but we have a Dec 31st release date with a 3500 yen price point.
I don't know if 5pb is actually developing or if they're just publishing - their name is associated with Phantom Breaker and a few Nitroplus visual novels like Steins;Gate.

Left, center, right weapon gauges. Are we seeing something like Valforce but with Infinite Stratos characters? Is 5pb. doing what SEGA never will?!

Re: The official Virtual-On model kit thread
I'm still working on that Temjin. http://puu.sh/d2J8F/17c0658d0a.png this is the first model I've painted so I've made a buttload of mistakes and such. also the blue is a lot darker than I intended because I didn't pay attention to what shade of blue I was buying. I guess this means it'll look a bit...

Re: Any Idea Where I Could Get This A Lot Cheaper?
Time for some cherry picking because I have a very general response to the last bit but not to the rest of your post. Now that your definitions have been clarified, I have a criticism of them of my own. Once again, by your definition, pretty much everything in the world is a model, so what is the po...

Re: Any Idea Where I Could Get This A Lot Cheaper?
To clarify further, by "scaled representation" do you mean that the item must be officially stated to be to scale on the box, or just that it appears to be a representation of something else? either/or. there are unscaled model kits as well, but they're still "scaled down ," if ...

If it's a scaled representation that has to be assembled, then it's a model kit.

Re: Any Idea Where I Could Get This A Lot Cheaper?
Thanks for clarifying your personal dictionary but I highly doubt anyone else in the world uses those distinctions. Everywhere I look has "garage kit" defined as a synonym for "resin kit" which tends to mean " model kit cast in resin " because there is absolutely nothin...

Re: Any Idea Where I Could Get This A Lot Cheaper?
Porcupine you're confusing the hell out of me with these two sentences here. I guess it's a typical white resin garage kit after all. I'm not sure what you mean when you say it's a model kit made of resin? "typical white resin garage kit" "what do you mean it's a model kit made of res...

No more SEGA sites
http://virtual-on.sega.jp/ Every tab is greyed out now. The only clickable objects are the Topics button and the One Man Rescue site banner - the only remaining site. EDIT: This actually happened back in May, which I think was around the time of the DDoS attacks on PSO2: http://sega.jp/topics/140512...

Re: The official Virtual-On model kit thread
You get the hang of them sooner or later. There's this one for Temjin that wraps around the leg, which looks like it'll be a royal pain. Haven't decided whether or not I'll use them. Take bets for next year's, if they're making one. I'm thinking Raiden. On differences in models, I noticed (from othe...

Re: The official Virtual-On model kit thread
Humm...unless I'm missing something, it looks like it's got a significantly lower part count than the Temjin. A quick look at Dalong's overview of the Kotobukiya one seems to suggest even that model has more parts! That's pretty interesting.
