Re: IMPORTANT POLL: Round-robin or Bracket?

I do this for work (in the games industry) so I might be able to offer some advice here. Why not institute an Elo-based ladder system? For those of you who don't know what an ELO ladder system is, here are some general characteristics. There are variations of course. Rankings are determined based on...

Re: Official Twin Sticks displayed on Hori site

Testament, I don't debate that it costs Hori less than $300 to make this at all. Rather, I am saying that based on my research, it would cost me personally at least $350 to make the same stick with the same parts that they use. I've contacted 3 different Sanwa distributers and they have all quoted m...

Re: Official Twin Sticks displayed on Hori site

IMO, this is pretty decent bang for your buck. I've written to several places and they have all quoted me $100 for each stick, shipping not included. That's at least $200 for the sticks alone. Add in the PCB, buttons, wiring, and everything else, you're looking at 20-70 bucks. Depending on how nice ...

Re: VOOT Youtubes

Whoa. CrazyDazed, thanks for uploading all those. It's great to be able to watch them away from the 360. They have got to be the highest quality VOOT videos on youtube. I'm so tempted to pick up one of those capture cards now since they look so cool. I wish there was one that was USB instead of inte...

Re: advanced techniques

I'm not sure I can tell which part is the super jump canceling. As far as I can tell, he only uses BTCW lasers once in both rounds at 0:38. Looks like it came out there. Are you talking about all the times when he does a RTRW followed immediately by the CW purple slice? I only got that to come out o...

Re: Official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks ¥30,000 in November from Hori

Apparently there's been an update to the Sega column regarding the twinsticks. Can someone who speaks Japanese translate for us? http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fvo-ot360.sega.jp%2Fcolumn.html&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 Apparently it says something about February....

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

I actually try to challenge as many 5 star Generals as I can. I try to last as long as possible and throw out all the ammo I can. Then I steal their mojo by saving the replay and watching it. Maybe once I've collected enough souls, I'll be able to win a few matches in Ranked. I'm at a pitiful 90:140...

Re: Uploaded replays sharing thread

Hey MentholMoose, I'm watching your uploaded replay of Grys Vok against a Temjin (6/6). Who's Temjin is that? Kuroilupin? I've didn't know Temjin could move that fast. That looks like a pretty intense match, especially the 2nd round. I can learn a few things from that... especially Temjin movement s...

Re: I feel like I've hit a wall in Virtual On

heh. I suck and I keep getting crushed by delta as well. Every time I think I'm starting to do well against him, I get smacked with his 1-2 cc combo. Yeah... I don't block and fall for it every time. Then I get up and he does it over and over and over again. My fault for not learning, but it's so da...

Re: Official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks ¥30,000 in November from Hori

Dang... that's pricey. Is this going to be the most expensive stick Hori has ever made?

OK custom mod time!

I might still pre-order tho. I'm a sucker for these types of things...

I didn't catch that at http://vo-ot360.sega.jp/column.html I actually have a different mod idea I'm thinking over right now. I actu...

Re: Saturn vs Dreamcast Twinsticks

Thanks for all the great info fellas! I forgot one major gripe about me DC sticks... I can't play them in my boxers as the metal bottom is always way too cold! Plenty of ways around this, I know. Also, I'm a little bit reluctant to mod these sticks, even via MentholMoose's reversable method, as thes...

Saturn vs Dreamcast Twinsticks

Hello, I tried reading through the other threads, but do not seem to have come across an answer to this. Does anyone own both the Saturn and Dreamcast Twin Sticks and can therefore post a comparison? Is one built better than the other? Are the sticks spaced the same distance apart? Are the controlle...

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread

Mintzaiger/Testament/Lupin/Schooly D/Zephyr, Great games tonight and thanks for the good times. Sorry if I wasn't more of a challenge for you all... still learning the ropes and it really helps to play against folks who are so much better than me. I'm so glad I found oratan and that there's a bunch ...
