Re: Twin sticks at a more affordable price.
Wow, would love to get in on it at that price. I just wish I knew how to search for/bid on stuff on a japanese site Is there some sort of walkthrough somewhere? :P Read the OP more closely. He lists "japan auction center" as a good courier service for this sort of thing. I've used akibado...

Senko no Ronde is basically a 2D Virtual On with curtain fire and boss transformations.

Re: Tier list thoughts?
I'm not exactly sure what the appeal of Fei's LTLW is. Is it just the speed of the shot that matters? Cause standard RW chips off a significant amount of V Armor all by itself.

Re: advanced techniques
There seems to be a brief period that allows additional jumps after some aerial actions. I'm trying to get the hang of Ajim's infinite upward teleport thing (just for fun, really), but the timing seems really strict and I keep messing it up. I'm wondering if I can just keep jumping up into the sky f...

Re: advanced techniques
I remember someone posting this about the damage model courtesy of Scott Robinson: http://auburnvo.org/content/applied-vo/m102-rp.html 1) Scott uses a lot of words to say simple things! 2) He's not entirely correct. Some weapons ARE different in the underwater stage. Try it yourself! Pick Tem...

Re: advanced techniques
Here's something mindblowing. Several attacks have different damage values in the underwater stage. This applies to all VRs, not just Bal-Baros. Check out this damage table for Temjin: http://oratanners.hp.infoseek.co.jp/tem.html Blue values are attacks that are weaker in water than on land. Red val...

Re: advanced techniques
The inconsistencies in Watari Dash angles were bothering me (sometimes you can do a 135-degree turn, sometimes you can't), so I decided to do a little testing.
Tested with Temjin. I assume it's the same for everyone.

Looking to pick up MARZ and OMG. Anything I should know?
I know that neither of these games are as liked as VOOT (OMG for being obsolete, MARZ for being lackluster), but I'd like to try them both out anyway. Right now I'm thinking of picking up the US version of MARZ and the JP PS2 version of OMG, but I wanted to know if these are the definitive versions ...

Re: Japanese XBLA VOOT tournament to be broadcast on ustream
Yeah, I know what you mean MM. I should have said that while stutter shows up from time to time, lag isn't as noticeable in this game to me. Sure, there are times where I think my input was timed correctly but I missed / got hit anyway, but it's not often that it feels like a blatant lag disadvantag...

Re: Japanese XBLA VOOT tournament to be broadcast on ustream
I usually don't notice a difference between a 3-bar game and a 0-bar game, and most of my games are 0-bar. VOOT's netcode is really good. I'd say that only about 2% of my matches stutter to the point where I really notice it. You still want to reduce latency as much as possible in a competitive envi...

Re: Japanese XBLA VOOT tournament to be broadcast on ustream
I'd play. I bet most regulars here would too. The easiest way to deal with lag imo would be to have all of the non-Japanese players fight each other first. That way the guys in Japan only have to fight one person across the ocean instead of several. I work night shift during the week, so early morni...

Re: Japanese XBLA VOOT tournament to be broadcast on ustream
There's a thread at GAF on how to sign up for Nico Nico:

It's kind of old, so I don't know if most of the layout is still the same or not.
Also, I recognize some of the names from the top 16. I know I've played against Adelie Core before.

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread
MM, sooner or later I am going to figure out how to not get curb-stomped. Getting better at anti-air though! Maybe! >_> Man is HBV 502 on here? One day I'll get him. Lost 4 games in a row to him. Just get so close and I can't finish it! Was it HBV 502 or hbv502? (Yes, they're different people. I tho...

So is this some kind of official-ish tournament or just something that the Japanese fans are throwing together?

Re: Official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks ¥30,000 in November from Hori
Mark-up via Play Asia and other importers would probably raise the final price even further. It might be worthwhile to place a group order through some kind of courier service (like Akibado) instead.
For those of you willing to spring on this, anyway. Too rich for my blood.

Re: Good Games/ Bad Games Thread
I fought some Bal player a couple days ago that had some insane record like 750W 100L. I could put up a fight for a little while, but all that crap just gets overwhelming eventually.
