What is needed for system link play in VOOT 360?

Post by Sixfortyfive »

- just a direct connection between consoles or both connect to a router?
- standard ethernet cable?
- Do we have to make sure one player is DNA and the other is RNA before linking?

I've done some system link stuff for GoW2, Halo 3, and L4D in the past, and we used those exact same methods as described in the link. VOOT should be no different, so just plug an ethernet cable between the two 360's, turn them on, and you should be good to go. Not sure about the DNA and RNA sides, but it wouldn't hurt to set them up properly, unless they just randomly assign the sides...

Yep, all you need is a Cat5 cable, and you go system to system, not unlike 2 Dreamcasts with a vs. link cable (oh the irony! :D ). Only multi-multiplayer games like Halo 3 require a router or LAN setup.
