Question: Am I considered cheap if I play with Ajim on XBL multiplayer? It seems to be the only VR I stand a chance with against human players since I got to play with the pad - and still I loose more often than I win ;)

Not at all. He's generally considered the 2nd worst VR.

Any anti-chicken advice for Fei-Yen (playing as Fei-Yen, not against)? I played some ranked matches against Temjin and AphB where the other dude got a lead and just kept hiding and running away. The only thing I could come up with is throwing walking CWs over walls and continuously dashing forward or diagonal forward, but it's hard to land a hit like that. After using Specineff for so long it's hard to adjust to not being able to hit people from anywhere on the map. :?

Question: What would you consider "unsporting conduct" in VOOT? Almost everytime I play someone my rep goes down and they avoid me. I believe I play normal like everyone else, idk how I'm unsporting. I just want to know so I could fix it.

Depends. Are you winning? If you are, they're pissed off because you're winning. If not, they're just jerks :D

I've played against you, and trust me there's nothing wrong with how you play.

What rank are you in Ranked? If your kicking ass but your rank isn't that high, there's a chance that they think that you just started playing on a new account in order to trick people into thinking that you're a beginner. When I switched accounts, I was back to being a Cadet, and for a while I was mostly challenged by players who were in the green/early blue ranks. I was a Brigadier General when I switched, so you can see where this is going. :) In short, they probably thought I was trying to get easy wins by pretending to be a beginner, and my rep plummeted. As of now, I'm at about 24% prefer/76% avoid.

Then again, some people are just d-bags online.

@MasterFygar & chunkypuff31

Well I have been winning more than usual for a while both in ranked and player matches. I'm a First Lieutenant (blue). There's quite a few players who shoot down my challenges too haha.

If I could read japanese this wouldn't be an issue (or if I got lucky mashing buttons), but I just can't figure out how to transform Guayakhara (little mage girl) into Jaguarandi after the anger guage is full. What am I supposed to press?!

Crouching both turbo + CW. In control standardA scheme, that's A+B+Both Triggers. Most of their special attacks uses this input, now go try out Kagekiyo's CC-only mode :D

One more question then... and this one's for all the money...

Why the hell are ranked matches dropping at the lobby repeatedly? Don't get me wrong, games go through about 30-40% of the time. Is it me or is this happening to everyone?

All for VO4F:

1. Is there 2 v (1 + CPU)? We had 3 people sitting down to play and weren't sure if/how the game would handle that.
2. Is there a way to use unlocked VRs on one account on another account, or do you have to unlock each one each time on each account?
3. Is there a way to set the Character Select Screen to use the English names instead of the Japanese names? It's confusing for, well, the VOX units.

A few quick questions and a few long ones. I'm a longstanding member of the fighting game scene, but I've never been into the Virtual On series. After playing the XBL title VOOT for the past few months it has grown on me quite significantly. I like the Virtual On series enough that I'm seriously considering building a very impressive setup, but I need to research things slowly before investing considerable time and money into a project.

Basically depending on what it would take, I'm interested in converting a dedicated VOOT cabinet into a console (360) VOOT cabinet, with LCD monitors, and online and LAN capabilities. Beyond that, if dedicated cabinets prove cumbersome, I would take two standard candy cabinets (Sega City etc.) and find VOOT panels, and set them up as arcade fighting games typically are.

The first question I have is: how do the LAN functions work on the Virtual On games, specifically VOOT and the new VO4 on the 360? I had heard that if you link two 360s up with a LAN cable (or simple a system link) with VOOT, that the game would allow both units to enter arcade mode (one side DNA, the other side switched to RNA) and play the game as if it was an arcade cabinet. Does the game automatically detect that two 360 units are connected via LAN? Or when you play VOOT through a LAN do you have to constantly arrange for specific matches unlike the traditional arcade mode? And lastly are the LAN functions for VOOT the same as VO4?

The first thing I'll tell you is that there is no way you're going to find a VOOT cabinet. OMG cabinets were fairly common back when and since they break so much and were parted out an empty cabinet is easy to find (working is a different story) but VOOT is all but impossible to get as an original without importing for at couple thousand.

I can get my hands on any cabinet just fine. Including VOOT cabinets. And money isn't really an issue for me.

The LAN functions of VOOT and VO4 are an issue for me though.

I've never used System Link mode on Xbox 360 VOOT, but I think it is similar to the Player Match mode. You will have to enter the System Link mode on both systems, and from there you will likely be able to quickly start a new match. Ask Knoxximus in his Mission Complete! thread since he has the complete setup.

If you've found where to get a VOOT cabinet, can you tell me? I know about CoinOpExpress but have heard bad things...
