My Little Voot

Post by neo helbeast »

Gentlemen, it has to be done. We (me) are going to make My Little Pony Virtual-On mods. They shall be awesome and adorable. We shall sneek through the Toy Aisles of our favorite stores, secretly browsing their selection. And when we get to check out counter and the middle aged woman asks if this a gift for someone, we shall yell "NO! It is for I and I alone!" and we shall leave her in a state of bewilderment and confusion. We shall taketh the ponies home and begin the exams, for when we are done they shall be more than My Little Ponies; they shall be My Little Voot.

I can't link to it directly but, I think the best set to get is the 2010 gift set. I was looking at it earlier today and the plastic they're made of doesn't look that cheap. Also so they went back to using the 3.5 models for the individual stes.

One question: what will we use to VR-tize them?

I don't have any VR figures that come apart... but I'll figure out something.

Honestly, I was going to paint some some clay and carve their faces up. I figure if do it right it should go to together like a lego set.

You can't expect someone with Pinky Pie as his avatar to not be one, can you?

Now I'm gonna have these guro-filled thoughts about these ponies, damn!

Also drilling holes into their head may be required.

Actually, I can't protest too much as playing Victor Frankenstein with my figures is a much loved pasttime of mine. Here's my last abomination: Image
I'll try to dig out my old ponies and see what I can do ;)

Good news everybody! The toy set I picked up is way better than I thought it would be. The plastic is really thick and the faces are nice and flight.

So, since I missed a giant email that said all education classes are canceled today I'm sitting in class with three other people who didn't get the memo too. So let me tack on some more info on what I plan on doing. The hair for once is solid plastic making this a little bit harder than I though it would be; cutting may be necessary. I decided the best way to flatten the faces would be to use a small nail file to sand down the faces. I found some old modeling clay from way back when I started college forever and a moon a go. If it's still viable(still moldable) I'll make a generic face visor and rubber cement it to the face. I haven't decided what color to do yet. It may be a generic mock up of Voot color scheme or I may go a little more cyber-punkish and do MechAssault 2 color schemes. The legs of the figures are really thick so cutting into the legs to make grieves or what not is completely do-able. Although the more I think about it the more I want Pinkie Pie in tank treads. Maybe, put the 11th Armored on there or even the 12th Infantry. Thoughts?

Edit: added a pic of the set. Also I may or may not be working on a U3E MLP game. Maybe.
