Ebay & Craigslist Arcade Thread

Post by twistedsymphony »

I keep track of VO arcade stuff that pops up on eBay and Craiglist, I figured it'd be a good idea to keep it all in one place.

---------

Here's someone selling a VO OMG Twin unit out of CT $1,395.00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... SS:US:1123
Image
Image
it looks like it's missing the divider.

Same seller with a separate auction for just a Slave side for $795
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... SS:US:1123
does not include the coin box and the slave side will be missing a power cord socket and power switch. without the coinbox you'll also be missing the test and service buttons as well as the volume knob and degauss button.

Pretty expensive price but both machines looks to be in decent shape

another one popped up in Michigan: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VIRTUAL-ON-CYBE ... SS:US:3160

$1,695.00 or best offer with shipping for $550 pretty expensive but everything is laid right out for you and it seems the price is negotiable.

it looks like it's missing the back of the blue seat as well as the control panel graphics
interestingly I found a listing for a blue seat here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arcade-Racing-S ... SS:US:1120

there is a sight online that sells new cabinet graphics for these machines too, though the name escapes me at the moment.

USA OMG master side control panel popped up for sale:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Virtual-On ... SS:US:3160
it looks like it's missing the start button, and the left turbo button, also the plastic on the left stick looks like it's been taped back together.
Image
$35 with $93 shipping makes it pretty expensive, but if you need parts it might be worth picking up.

OMG Boardset for $30!!!!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sega-Virtua-On- ... SS:US:3160

It was mislabeled as "virtua" on. it's so cheap I'm half tempted to bid on it myself just for a backup.

This is probably one of the best deals to come along for anyone interested in a VO machine:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... SS:US:3160

starting bid of $399 with buy it now at $1950. located in Troy MI.

looks to be in great shape, I know I'd personally love to have plastics on my machine that nice bright white (mine are all yellowed)

I actually recently bought a DDR machine from this same seller. He was willing to ship and took a really low offer on the machine I bought (his was a "best offer" listing). seems like a stand up guy too.

Nickel Nickel in SoCal must be going out of business since their assets are being liquidated at auction next month (see Captain's Auction Warehouse). At some point they had OMG but I don't see it in the auction inventory:

Bidspotter.com-Live Internet Auction Broadcasting-Inventory page

There are a lot of very old machines which I'm not interested in, and some deluxe machines which I have nowhere to put. However, there is a Crazy Taxi upright cab which I think could be converted to play other Naomi games including VOOT Ver.5.66. Anyone have any idea how difficult or expensive such a conversion would be?

not very difficult, but you'd need the whole control panel box from a deluxe machine. (you have one of those don't you?)... it should bolt right up to the cabinet once you've removed the steering wheel assembly from crazy taxi, then you'd have to wire it up. if you had the original VOOT harness it would plug right in but other wise you might have to some splicing.

other than that you'd just have to swap cartridges.

Provided you already have the VOOT control panel box and complete control panel harness the whole "conversion" (functionally at least) could be done in about 15-20 minutes with simple tools.

You might also consider removing the Crazy Taxi foot pedals, however if it were me I'd try to make the machine swap-able... so I could just just swap out the cart and control panel between the two games whenever I like.

EDIT: forget what I said... if you planning on trying that with the Crazy Taxi UPRIGHT... what I wrote was for a Crazy Taxi Deluxe.... The Upright is a Net City style cabinet and since they never made a VOOT for Net city you'd have a build a custom control panel box... honestly, not worth it IMO.

They do have a deluxe for sale too, or this would be a better cabinet to work from: http://www.bidspotter.com/forms/photo.p ... time=13:00

Jambo Safari is also NAOMI so VOOT Deluxe control panel box will bolt right up... and seriously who gives a **** about Jambo Safari.

I was thinking more along the lines of using a VOOT Ver.5.2 Versus City panel. AFAIK the upright Crazy Taxi is an adapted Net City, so I was hoping it would be easy to "un-adapt" it to install standard Versus City style control panels.

I went to the auction warehouse and checked out the Crazy Taxi cab. It was in good condition but the monitor had bad burn-in so I decided against bidding on it. I watched the auction and it sold for $425 plus auction fees (so around $500 total), which is more than I would've bid anyway.

It was the first arcade game auction I've watched. Some of the deluxe games sold for cheap. That Jambo Safari went for $200! At that price you could make a profit from parting it out and selling the electronics on eBay and scrapping the rest. The Namco Barber Cut machines and some pinball machines seemed to be the most popular, selling for upwards of $2000.

It says there are FOUR available. If I can find time during the week, maybe I can go check out the condition and version.

Also found for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... SS:US:1120

it's a US OMG Arcade control panel, could be good for parts if someone wanted to build a twin-stick setup for home use.

I'd be very interested in what you find. I want to ask them if they plan on or would be willing to part the machines out but I'd feel bad doing that if they only had 1 machine.

if you do see them PLEASE please PLEASE see if you can get high resolution pictures of the seat stickers and side art.

This Saturday a VOOT cab will be put on auction by Captain's Auction Warehouse. It looks like a converted OMG cabinet with OMG sticks. This is near where I live so I will probably go check it out (and I'll bring my camera to take some photos).

Here is the auction link:

Awesome, thank you! I'd love to see some good pics of the artwork. The more centered and high resolution the better as I'd like to attempt to use photos make replica art work so I can convert my OMG cab.

This is actually the same machine in the eBay listing. I had emailed the seller to see if he'd be willing to part out the machine so that I might convert my OMG machine to VOOT. He told me it was going to auction on the 7th and that if it doesn't sell at auction he might consider parting it out for me.

Good to know. I wish I could bid but I just don't have the space for it. I do have my eye on another cab in the auction, though. 8-)

I'll try to get some decent photos for you on Saturday.
