share your online content!
This would be a good place to post your picture galleries or anything else VO related you've found in the depths of the interweb.
I traced a few old web pages over the last several months, and I've dug up quite a few random pics of VO in it's past, so heres a small collection
It's all very random, but I thought I'd share anyways.

Re: share your online content!
Nice thread, I'll be sure to post anything cool I come across. The main thing that comes to mind right now is the official VOOT for Xbox 360 web site download page. They have some excellent images available in various resolutions, with no lame watermarks.

Damn harddrive failures. I had a treasure trove of old VO fanart from scouring japanese fancircle websites.
There was one japanese artist I was really fond of named BB-Dan who had this really awesome sketchy style and did some really awesome redesigns of VRs.
Also VAA (formerly specineff.com) had some really awesome 3D model pics.
Oh yeah for anyone who wants SD VR's http://uomachi.pekori.to/
I'm amazed the page is still around.
Oh and of course, there's me >_> SD Temjin

Re: share your online content!
I dunno if i can re-upload it anytime soon, but our friend Garrayaka (am i remotely spelling that right, woops ^^;;; ), uploaded the booklet scans from the fei-yen w cinderella heart special edition model. (not really ot related but still fun). For those curious in the meantime, there are apparently different classes of torso for fei-yen, referred to as "thorax" if the translation is correct.
The only noticeable difference between them is chest/butt sizes, i'm not joking. One could argue weight/aerodynamics/speed/back problems, but meh, tis funny ^^
I"ll see about getting that uploaded.

awesome, through collaboration, we can preserve whats left. I never got to see virtualon.net, but I've heard from many (Scott and others) that most of the content died when it died, and all thats left are fragments.
So unfortunate I didn't know about the page at the time!

Yea I had some of the virtualon.net stuff saved as my favorite, etc, but it's gone now. =/ So, so sad. I'll have to contribute to the preservation once I get back home to my PC.

Re: share your online content!
I had a copious amount of posts there, so it was incredibly dismaying when it disappeared, and it was horrible news that the database and all backups were deleted and unrecoverable. And now the domain is used for advertising. Oh well, I will try to pay my hosting and domain fees on time (I've been doing fine with this site for 9 years now!).RVR - 42 wrote:Yea I had some of the virtualon.net stuff saved as my favorite, etc, but it's gone now. =/ So, so sad. Wow your really hung in there Menthol, did you expect a revival like this eventually? I'm sure there where several like me, who came across the site and thought it was dead, but bookmarked it anyways, that was two years ago, and nothing had been posted in months! Pretty wild.
Well anyways, thanks to VR-Eli's post for the deviantart pages, I've compiled the pics from all the links into another convenient RAR. Here you are!

Yeah seriously... I had stopped playing any form of Virtual-on about 2-3 years ago and had pretty much moved on. But nooooooooooo Sega actually had to do something badassed an re-release a bunch of old awesome Sega games. *insert sound clip from Altered Beast* Aside from VO:OT I'm also psyched for Jet Grind Radio to be re-released.MentholMoose wrote:Honestly I didn't have much hope.

Video posted of Sega Saturn VO Netlink VS Matches
I could find no footage available online of Sega Saturn VO Netlink Edition versus play.
So, I dusted off my old SVHS tapes and posted them. I created a YouTube channel here:
http://www.youtube.com/virtuaroid
Don't forget to watch them in "HQ".
It's interesting to see how the Netlink worked, and the matches themselves are fairly satisfying, with similarly-ranked players. Also a good look into just what kind of skills the VO Netlinkers were using at the time.
I'd say there were less than 50 dedicated users in the whole USA playing VO over Netlink. More like 20. What a successful product, Sega!

Re: Video posted of Sega Saturn VO Netlink VS Matches
Consider the avalability of netlink edition, price, as well as the price and avalability of internet at the time......odds are it did much better in japan, but that was probrably a record breaker in america at the time. Things like that didn't really take off till the dreamcast, with a faster modem and the fact that it came with the system. Also more people had internet at that time too so...VMS wrote:I could find no footage available online of Sega Saturn VO Netlink Edition versus play.

Hahahah @ Altered Beast sound clip. But yea...I lost hope and still find this hard to believe. While it's not a new game...it's just as good and for me...it is basically. 5.45 is where my VOOT experience is, and this game features so much more stuff. So. Much. More. than what 5.45 had. I hope this is as successful as SSFII T: HD Remix was.
Yea..I know, only in my dreams. =(
