The official Virtual-On model kit thread

Instead of starting a new thread every time a new kit is announced or released, I figured I should start a thread where we can discuss any Virtual-On related models, either plastic or resin. Post news, pictures, progress logs, or whatever.

NEW AND UPCOMING KITS

Hasegawa
-TG-11-M Guarayakha
Image
Already released. Came out March 20th, 2010.

-TG-11-M Guarayakha [Queen from the Sky]

Same exact kit as the first Guarayakha, except it's molded in 4P colors, and comes with a newly-tooled cape, flying baton, and stand parts. Came out July 11th, 2010.

-YZR-8000Δ Myzr Delta
Image
After such a long wait, Hasegawa finally releases the Myzr Delta! After various one-day delays, it was released January 25th, 2011.

-RVR-62-D/77-X Apharmd T Type D/X
Image
Right before the Myzr came out, Hasegawa announced this. Comes with parts for the types D and X, as well as all the weapons from the previous Apharmd T releases. Came out March 3rd, 2011.

-TF-14B/C+ Fei-Yen with BH/PH+ [Fetish]
ImageImageImage
Similar to the original kit released back in June of 2007, although this time it's in Flesh Refoe colors, and comes with a new slew of "fetish" parts, including: the tiara that appears on the commander (+) Fei-Yens, all four breast sizes seen in Force (DFC, default, well-endowed, and DAYUM), as well as parts to upgrade your Fei with DAT ASS. Came out June 3rd, 2011.

-YZR-8000Γ Myzr Gamma
Image
Same as the Myzr Delta above, except it features 4P colors as well as new parts to make the Magic Launcher Revnant 37 ver 2.8 (basically, the gun that makes the Gamma what it is). Came out July 14th, 2011.

Already released. Came out Feburary 26th, 2010.

    kotoresinbalbasbow.jpg

    kotoresinviper1.jpg

For those that have never seen a resin kit, they look like this in the box:

Each Kotobukiya resin kit comes with photo-etched parts and the required polycaps and other stuff.

Wave kits list for Oratorio Tangram, with original price:

1/144 Resin kits, Oratorio Tangram, released in 1999:
  • VR-40 Temjin (9,800 yen)
  • VR-41 Fei-Yen the Knight (8,800 yen)
  • VR-42 Dordray (15,800 yen)
  • VR-43 Cypher (9,800 yen)
  • VR-44 Angelan (12,800 yen)
1/144 styrene kits, Oratorio Tangram, released from 1999 to 2000:
  • VR-61/Series 01 Temjin (1,200 yen)
  • VR-68/Series 02 Temjin 2nd Player version (1,200 yen)
    wavetemjinot_P2.jpg
  • Limited edition Temjin, chromed in silver and blue.
    waveltdtemjin.jpg
For a chromed model kit this builds wonderfully. Everything fits perfectly together, without the usual problem of chromed kits: pegs that are too fat for their respective holes. Wave's stickers are some of the best I've ever seen: thin and opaque, with good adhesive. My only complaint is that there's some sprue marks that are not hidden. The assembled kit is very well articulated, but something seems off about the proportions (I think the upper body is too squat, or the legs are too long).

Dang, that's a nice collection you have there! I'm especially envious of that chromed Temjin :) . Do you have any pictures of the completed resin kits, or are you leaving them unassembled?

One day I'll build them.

When you do, please post pics! I want to see what these things look like when they're all painted and assembled.

Good news, the Myzr Delta will likely be released (see at the bottom of this page for an image - it's transformable!):

Awesome! It's great to see Hasegawa catch up on their Virtual-On releases. Added the new kits to the upcoming releases list. I can't wait for that Myzr-Delta to come out. This'll be Hasegawa's first transformable model kit (I'm surprised they haven't made one of the VF-1 Valkyrie yet).

Now if only they'll make a kit of the Kagekiyo. My Musha Gundam's pretty lonely... :)

I've updated one of my posts above with the complete list of Wave's 1/72 and 1/144 Operation Moon Gate, One Man Rescue, and Oratorio Tangram kits. I'll add some more pictures later.

Chrome...Temjin...must...have...it!

Seriously. Coolest model kit ever!

I did about an hour of searching online for this Chrome Temjin model and couldn't even find one mention of it. When was it released, and how expensive is it? Is there any chance at all that I might get my hands on one of these? Where might I find one? PhantomPhotonX wants the Precious!

I think it likely was an event-limited or mail-away item, released between 1998 and 2000. The box hasn't got a price tag nor a barcode, which means it wasn't sold in normal shops.

I got mine from Yahoo Auctions Japan using a middleman service (e.g. rinkya, shopping mall japan, etc.). A middleman service can buy items for you on Y! Auctions Japan against a fee. Expect to pay about twice what the item is selling for in yen.

You can use this to search for everything named "Temjin":
http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/s ... at=0&apg=1

There's one on now for 5,000 yen, but it can be had for less if you're willing to wait until a cheaper one shows up.

Splitting the Wave kits list, because there's an attachment limit of 10 images per post.

Wave 1/72 Operation Moon Gate soft vinyl kits, released in 1996:
These kits are pretty big, fixed pose, and pre-colored (!).
  • Temjin (3,980 yen)
    wavetemjin72.jpg
    wavetemjin72_parts1.jpg
    wavetemjin72_parts2.jpg
Wave's instructions are clear enough for this kit, but it still requires a lot of hand fitting to get everything together properly. The kit actually has joints at the waist and neck, so some minor variation in the pose is possible. I superglued everything together.
    wavetemjin72_4.jpg
    wavetemjin72_3.jpg
    .
    (28.11 KiB) Not downloaded yet
    wavetemjin72_2.jpg
That's a 30 cm (1 foot) ruler next to it, just to show the size.
    wavetemjin72_1.jpg
  • Temjin 2nd Player (3,980 yen)
The only difference in the box is that it has big "Player 2" stickers slapped on it.
    wavetemjin72_P2.jpg
    wavetemjin72_P2_parts.jpg
    wave72temjin2ndpbuilt.jpg
  • Fei-Yen (3,980 yen)
    See this post: http://www.oratan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6050#p6050
  • Fei-Yen 2nd Player (3,980 yen)

This kit is not really "full action" (as stated on the box), but requires parts swapping to deploy the lasers and open the V-converter unit...
    waveresinraiden.jpg
  • 03 Viper II (6,800 yen)

  • VR-62/VRV series 01 Raiden M'mi Salpen's version (1,600 yen, includes flat launcher and original Raiden bazooka)
    wavemmysalpencustom.jpg
  • VR-63/VRV series 02 Raiden Dash Pronger version (1,600 yen)

    wave1080decals.jpg
  • VR-67/VRV series 04 Temjin Operation Moon Gate new kit (1,200 yen, more complicated kit than original, includes translucent parts)

    wavetemjinshadow.jpg
  • VR-70/VRV series 06 Raiden L'Den/L'Tow custom version (1,800 yen, includes Damned 9009 gattling gun, flat launcher, and bazooka!)

Sweet, this is great! Viper2, thanks for all the photos and information. There were more Virtual-On kits from Wave than I thought there were! So far, I've only been focusing on getting Hasegawa's 1/100 Force/Marz kits, but now I need to check these out. I need me an Arcade-accurate Temjin!

And like Phantom, I gotta track down one of those chrome Temjins as well. So cool!
