Don't buy into the fear mongering. It won't be as bad as Chernobyl.

Shamanic is right, won't be as bad as Chernobyl. Recently, I've been watching the news on this matter. Hope everything will be resolved soon. Good luck Japan!

The same thing will happen to this area as it did Chernobyl. Nature will come and reclaim it in years to come. It may take a while, but in time it'll become a creepy place to rummage around in.

And that's always fun, isn't it?

Today Living Social has a $5 for $10 deal on a Red Cross donation.
The Best Daily Deals in Los Angeles - $5 for $10 Donation to Red Cross Relief Efforts

This is really nice since the yen is still strong against the dollar... it was actually strengthening all week (dropped a lot today, though). USD/JPY

(Reuters) - The U.S. government on Friday said that "miniscule" amounts of radiation were detected in Sacramento, California, but that no radiation levels of concern have been uncovered in United States.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world seems to have descended into chaos. Over in Russia, people are buying seaweed and red wine in bulk to protect themselves from radiation. Americans are stocking up on iodine tablets. The Chinese are hoarding salt believing the iodine in salt can protect them.

If you missed out on the Living Social donation, or just want to donate more, Salesforce.com has a donation matching grant you can take advantage of:
The Salesforce.com Foundation adds a $25k dollar-for-dollar matching grant to the Northern Japan Earthquake Relief fund

Ah, this really shocked me when I heard the news. I only wish I was able to get anything to donate... Now I feel terrible for buying all those people VOOT when I could've been saving for this...
Area to remain blank until I stop procrastinating.
Wait...

I suggest listening to Rise Against's "Help Is On The Way" as it makes you think about the hardships that they're going through. Stay strong Japan!
