Small website change - if possible

Post by Dreamcazman »

Menthol, just wondering if you could make a small tweak to this website, or the forums in particular. When I click on a link, it opens it up in the same window and not a new tab/window - It would be good to keep the forums page without having to click back to it.

I've checked my browser settings and they're fine, and it doesn't do it on other sites/forums.

Any chance this can be done?

Please. No.

The only time a new window or tab should be opened is when the user specifically requests it. Hold Ctrl and click. Right-click and pick "New Tab". Plenty of ways to do it.

It might fit your own style for a site to auto-pop windows, but it certainly isn't mine.

Apparently that functionality is purposely the default for this bulletin board software, and changing it seems to require modifying some code. I think it's probably best to leave it as is so people can open links in new tabs or windows as desired. I never noticed this since I'm used to using middle-click to open links in new tabs.

Don't be sorry or embarassed. It's cool dude. I sometimes forget to do it the manual way and lose what I was doing, blah blah blah. Heh, but yea just right click...new tab, etc.

I could try and make you guys a banner if you like. I made vector art for a few years, mostly logos. I havent made anything in over a year though.
