US-International Tournament 4

Post by Schooly D »

US-International Tournament 4

Date: Friday, January 1, 2010
Time: TBD
Organizer: Schooly D

The Fourth US-International Tournament will be mostly the same deal as previous ones. Single-elimination tournament, one VR per player, one match to win, etc.

What will be different is the seeding. For this tournament, the seeding will be done based on the VOOT Ladder. The higher your rating, the higher your seed. You can challenge other players in a variety of ways: you can use the Shoutbox on the site, or you can go to a player's profile and send a message to their IM client, or click on their Gamercard to send a message to them over Xbox Live. So get out there and start playing! Remember that you gain more points for winning than you lose for losing, so it's to your advantage to play more matches!

To sign up, either reply to this thread with your Gamertag and VR, or send the same information via e-mail to voot.tournament@gmail.com

When is the tournament? I could do the bracket and live recording, not streaming live...

I could do the the recording as well. I've been working on my Ustream channel and FML endcoder 3 if we want it live or I can Go to my old capture card and work it from there.

I honestly don't feel all that confident in playing in tournaments lately.

I'm in.

I can think of no better way to bring in the new year (and celebrate my birthday) than with another second-place (or worse) finish in the USIT4 tournament! If I win, it will just be icing on the cake.

Indeed. :?

I still don't know if I can play, I probably have to work sometime Friday or Saturday, but I don't know when or which day yet.

Well I'm gonna go ahead and cancel the tournament. We just didn't get enough people. Not a huge deal, though, since I don't think the Japanese are having a tournament either. Let's aim for next month!

Incidentally, if anyone knows any good cures for hangovers, I'm listening. :(

Sounds like fun, I would like to play. And be embarrassed royally.

I assume this is going to be similar to our USIT3 in which two people from different teams play, and then the other two play, and if there is a tie the first two play again? And 8 AM EST as usual?

I'm down. Is the idea that the rest of us have to compete to see who's on aniking's team?

lol. I will forfeit that privilege if it means giving one of our teams a better chance to win.

The Time will be 7ET(6CT). Team USA will play maybe around 8ET because Japanese has their first round match start 7ET.

Guys, its gonna be fun and dont worry about your skill. All i care about is that you could wake up that early morning. ;)

I should be able to play if nobody else signs up, but I'd much rather let somebody else play if they want.

Japanese management has told me that there are about 30 japanese players (or could be less). It means there are 16 teams from the beggining. So team USA will play from 7ET (6CT) same as Japanese teams.

Hope you guys will be online before 6:30ET to discuss who will team up. I will be online before 6ET and start playing for warm up. Anybody who wanna join will be welcome anytime.

So Team America and Team USA (our two teams for the tournament, consisting of myself, Specy87, Schooly D, and AnikingVOOT) were single-handedly defeated by Zton D Horn (Bal-Bados user). Aniking and Schooly managed to win one round before the Zton carnage. I uploaded my replay from the event. It looks like I wouldn't have done any better even if that phantom poke in round 3 actually did damage like it was supposed to. But in the words of Graham Aker...that's Virtual-On!
