^ The entire database(which contains all the backstory, character infos, etc) was removed from US Marz. In other words, newcomers would scratch their head at SHBVD, Plajiner, Reverse-Convert and all other VO universe mumbo-jumbos.

This is interesting... Buy Force and get a special paint color for your mech in Border Break.

VOOM has some Japanese in the Japanese version. I assume the Japanese XBOX VOOT is the same as other countries' XBOX VOOT?

Re: Virtual On Force coming to XBLA?
Most of the shmups I've imported have had English menus, so it usually wasn't a problem (not that shmups have much text anyway). I always found it odd that so many Japanese-only games are primarily in English.MentholMoose wrote:It should be fine, a little Japanese text never scared anyone who imports games. If I even play Force, it will only be for multiplayer anyway, and I wouldn't expect to have a problem with Japanese menus (having to team up and coordinate with a primarily Japanese player base would be the main problem).DeepInTheHops wrote: One thing's for sure, it's bad news for people importing the game.
I have run into a couple games that were totally in Japanese, though. In an actual arcade it'd probably be easy to get through (due to the lack of options), but ports tend to add all sorts of extra stuff, so it's a lot harder to fumble my way through the menus with trial and error.
As for Japanese teammates... yeah, that might be tough. A lot of Japanese players avoid me because of the lag (I assume! ), but there are some that challenge me over and over when they see me online. It'll be interesting to see how that pans out with Force.

New article on the Memorial Box 15
http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/1 ... _force_le/
For 12,900 yen you get a 218 tracks OST spanning across 6 discs, a 140 page booklet (images, concept arts, promo, past interviews), the actual game, and the boob code (if you pre-ordered the box).
And two superballs. Now we can really get Vash some blue balls.

Six-disc all-encompassing soundtrack. Now that is some pretty sweet swag.

I love it. As I've said before, it's very reminiscent of Katoki's Gundam Fix work.shamanic_beat wrote:Game cover art

"I am the only one playing with myself at night."

Tangrams that bounce all over the place? Heck, just for that insane bonus I probably should order the box...guarayakha wrote:What the heck are those superballs?

Apparently there is a second trailer out a couple days ago that they didn't bother telling people about until yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfCxuoot8KI

NTSC-J means region free, right?
Also, arcade version of OMG was identical between versions. The cabinet retains the Japanese writing and the game was still mostly in English.

Not necessarily, NTSC-J just means it's a Japanese region game. Some NTSC-J games are region locked, some aren't.MasterFygar wrote:NTSC-J means region free, right?

Ah. I thought NTSC meant region free. That's a shame.DeepInTheHops wrote:Not necessarily, NTSC-J just means it's a Japanese region game. Some NTSC-J games are region locked, some aren't.MasterFygar wrote:NTSC-J means region free, right?
Re: Virtual On Force coming to XBLA?
It means it's suited for Japanese TVs only. So we Europeans, whose TVs use PAL or PAL-SECAM, will need to use a monitor, unless we have a TV that can also do NTSC(-J), like US and Japanese TVs.

Nah,
Viper2: you mean the display Hz? 360 consoles have the same outputs in all regions.. pretty much any PAL TV made in the last ~10 years has 60hz ("NTSC") support.DeepInTheHops wrote:NTSC-J just means it's a Japanese region game.

Let's just hope the Asian version is region free. So far it's still a big fat "unknown" over at Play-asia.

Re: Virtual On Force coming to XBLA?
Well, I'm not sure about you guys, but I've got a REALLY bad feeling that it's NOT going to be region-free. The reason is because I've already seen 2 websites that say so in the product's description. The links to these 2 sites are below:guarayakha wrote:Let's just hope the Asian version is region free. If we don't get it in America... I don't know, I'm going to turn into the Phoneman and smack SEGA with my Colorful Balls.
