The lack of clarification is in itself a clarification. We aren't gonna be playing this.

Well, getting a Japanese 360 is too difficult. Time to go buy a few Force machines...

Please explain to me how getting a full Force arcade setup is easier than getting a Japanese Xbox... Unless of course you're not being serious, in which case I need to do some maintanence on my sarcasm detector.

I think the ellipsis and especially the "a few" part indicates it's sarcasm. A Japanese Xbox 360 can be bought from NCS so it is not particularly difficult.

For me, besides the cost, the difficulty is overcoming the concept of buying a second Xbox 360 for one game. For VOOT it was a no brainer, it is my favorite game of all time after all, though Gran Turismo comes close. Force really doesn't appeal to me, so it is really, really difficult to take the plunge. Even buying the game itself is tough, and I may not buy it.

Yeah, I'm with MM. I was being sarcastic--I thought it was obvious-- but as cool as Force looks, I focus on arcade collecting and that's where my income goes. I already broke the mold and spend 300 bucks for a 360 and VOOT... not planning on doing it again, honestly. Just praying for an overseas release at this point.

Some games are region-free, but AFAIk most of these usually come from the UK. NTSC/J games are mostly(I dunno, 9/10 times?) locked, but there are few exceptions, like Streetfighter4. Though in Force's case, it's rather slim.

2 360 for system link VOOT! Unfortunately, it's the only way to play 5.66 2 player locally.

This just in on Sega's blog: November 27 is the 15th anniversary of the Virtual-On series, so get your party hats on.

Also, there's going to be "life-sized poster" Virtual-On poster placed on "Akihibara Gigo," which is some Sega arcade in Akihibara.

And yet all we got was a port of an old arcade game to celebrate... :|

C'mon SEGA, make a sequel that actually matches VOOT already :-x

It said right in the blog that it was gonna be of the Temjin 747A, although I would laugh hard if it was one of those fetishy pictures of the Fei-Yen.

I need to stop procrastinating and preorder this. What's the difference between Asia and Japan versions of Xbox360 games? Play-Asia has both, but the Asian version is much cheaper:

That's something I'd like to know, too.

If there's ever going to be an announcement of a new VO game, it'll be on the anniversary.

I'm just going to make a wild guess and say that the poster will be advertising a new game entirely.

I know I'll be wrong, but I'm so desperate to believe it I don't really care.

I guess the Japan-version is the limited edition boxset, while the Asia one is the regular release...

Both of them are the regular releases. Japan gets another one for the LE. If only Play-Asia can provide more info other than the "?" on the region info and what not. Most of the time though, an Asian version simply means an added chinese manual.

Guess what, everyone? I finally managed to preorder a copy of Virtual On Force(Normal Edition) from PlayAsia yesterday :D. When it finally arrives in my mail, if it's region-free, great. If not, then I'll just get a japanese Xbox 360.
