Could someone please confirm that there is the "D-Pad + ABXY" control scheme in this game ?

I'd be pretty upset to buy it and not being able to play with my TwinStick.

Is that the Twinstick setup from OT? If so, yes, they're back. The only thing missing is customizable controls.

How do I get the kind of LIVE I need to use the code through my Japanese account? I don't want to have to pay for ANOTHER gold subscription but I'm not seeing the free trial option.

You mean the boob code? A silver account will do. Use the redeem code option from the shortcut menu accessed from your controller's big X button (what do they call it again? The "home" button?)

Nah, unless you're going to play online with that account, I believe silver would do for most DLC transactions.

There is no other way to unlock new VRs, I believe?

You can unlock new colors as well too with the missions.
A japanese friend was saying there is a chance you can unlock your teammates VR by completing a mission.. only seemed to get it to work once though. I think the unlock system is pretty stupid too. Still trying to grind one of the jaguarandi missions to get the Myzr Type-Rs :p

I played player matches for a couple hours today.. was really fun. People switching teams and VRs every match, etc. I can see why they slowed the game down so much, 2v2 is still pretty manic and melee is fun. The new matchmaking and lobby system are great. If you have more than 4 players, the top 4 play and others observe and the winning players can keep playing until they lose. Before a match starts you can switch VRs and choose if you want to be leader of the first and third round (if both have it on it'll be random as normal)

There is also an option to not have randomised teams, players can select their team by pressing A. I wonder if you could have more than two if you have 6-8 players, that could be cool.

Just waiting for you all to get your copies now, its a bit hard getting matches with japanese players (one of the three other players leave 95% of the time) and if one of them has a bad connection the lag can be unplayable.

I ordered mine a few days ago. It shipped last night and should be in tomorrow morning! My gamertag is the same on here, RayLancer. If anyone adds me, just say you're from oratan.

I contacted NCSX and they said that the asian version doesn't with any DLC, in case if anyone is curious. I'm a bit disappointed but I don't think it was worth the $20 difference.

I'm waiting for ncsx to update tomorrow morning with an update on wether or not their JPN versions still come with the DLC code, if it does, I'm overnighting that sonofabitch, if not, I guess I'll just snag the asia one from playasia for $50 or whatever it is and overnight that one instead, I thought I could deal with waiting a little better, but its getting to me. Hopefully DeathSmiles NA will tide me over until Force comes in.

Just keeping playing mission mode. He'll come before you start getting the rare commander units (TypeRs, Fei-yen+, etc).

Hi guys

Anyone who plays Virtual on force on an SDTV, can confirm if it the game support the original 4:3 aspect ratio or if it shows letterbox black bars?

Hi, just joined.

Quick Q's about Force before I bite:

1) Asia and JP versions compatible with each other online?

2) What kind of online PvP options are there? Can I team up beforehand with a friend online (via invite) against 2 other players (rather than just randomized or something)? Can I team up with him against 2 AI?

Thanks.

Yeah, it displays in 4:3 on my CRT monitor.

1) yeah, and the online works by peer to peer (player 1 seems to be a host)

2) You can team up with the third matchmaking option, itll make you and your teammate join the same game. On player match there is also an option to have set teams that the players can choose in the lobby. I dont think you can choose specific AIs to fight if youre playing with someone online, but you can always play mission mode. In one match mode you could play against 2 selected AI if you had someone as player 2 locally.

Just got my copy today. I ordered the Asia version but they ended up sending me the Japanese version (probably because they can't tell the different either :P).

Loving it so far, but I wish I could read the menus, I have no idea what the AI options are.

Also, if anyone wants to co-op mission mode let me know

Really? Sega is trying milk more out of freaking Virtual On? Really?
Gives me a reason other than the Force background theme to order a JP Xbox Live points card :P

I thought that was only if you got the code...? You need a JP account to redeem it, but no points. It works on a Silver account too.
