The game just came out, but it seems like a lot of hardcore gamers are ignoring this gem. It is basically the sequel to Rez on the Sega Dreamcast. Rez is similar to Panzer Dragoon in gameplay, but it revolves around music in a Tron-ish type world.
Looking at gamefaqs, Rez never came out in US. Only Europe and Japan.

Child of Eden is definitley out in the US, I preordered in full (just haven't gotten around to going to get it yet) and actually, if you preordered it at gamestop, you were entered in a sweepstakes to win a trip to go see Tetsuya Mizuguchi, which would be pretty damn awesome.

I bought one of those back in the day. They weren't messing around when they designed that thing... vibrates A LOT. Probably comparable to using one of those video game chairs with a built-in subwoofer. Being a dude, I can't attest to its supposed effectiveness.MentholMoose wrote:Any word on whether or not it supports the Trance Vibrator??
As for Rez itself, I couldn't get into the game. Seemed like more of an interactive screen saver than a game to me. Then again, I like my video games to be on crack, not LSD.

Rez/Eden is more about the experience itself rather than the gameplay. Hook it up to nice TV and stereo system.DeepInTheHops wrote:I bought one of those back in the day. Yeah, it's not much of a game. I'd imagine you don't like the music? pretty much the core of the game. I love the music and presentation so I don't mind the simplistic gameplay while playing through it. Scoring system isn't that bad either apart from boss milking.
Child of Eden is pretty much the same, but it has a rhythm game mechanic going where you have to release the lasers to the beat of the song to get multipliers. You also have a secondary shot that is used mostly to cancel bullets, and they made sure there was no boss milking in the game this time. Music is more trance-pop or w/e which is pretty different from Rez but not bad at all. The game is also much harder, and the extra stage is extremely difficult just to survive through.

Some thread about Eden, Kinect and HDD install having issues. Basically it says to don't install. I wonder if it is an issue due to the bandwidth.
