Oratan.com online player roundup [discontinued 2019/10]

Post by Zaarock »

Thread for listing the Xbox Gamertags and PSN IDs of Virtual-On players that are active online on Xbox Live and PSN. Mainly users of this forum.
Definition for active used here: checking this forum and intending to play online every few weeks.

Should be handy if you want to find people to play online with.

I'll add people who post here to the list below, also say which of the games you play if you can.
If anyone wants their names removed from these lists please contact me!

When do people play VOOT? I'm rarely on XBL anymore, so I miss out on random games. I'm definitely still interested in playing, though.

I'm usually online 13-18 UTC(sometimes later too), 12-16 seem like the peak hours for japanese players. IDK about regular hours for others. Might as well add those in the post too though.

I'm mostly active on Force, but I can be persuaded to play VOOT. Need to learn how to play it on Twins at some point.

still here, plays voot.

haven't had a vs match in a while as when i'm online the 'well' of players seems pretty dry.
xbox is disconnected in the short term while the tv/game room is being refit.

is force actively played enough to get online matches easily at any time? (that would be a big selling point for me)

Force is more active in japan than voot right now. But it's pretty troublesome to try to play with random japanese players since you need 3 people who are fine with laggy matches.

It's easier to get random matches in voot for me, but I'm probably in a very different timezone. Still, force is only like 35usd now

so, i've setup a google calendar to help coordinate matches:

html
https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?s ... google.com

ical
https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/ft ... /basic.ics

xml/rss
https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/f ... blic/basic

i'll grant write event access to anyone who requests it. this way, match opportunities will autojamagically show up in calendars if you consume this. seems like it could be a more time-aware means of negotiating matchups than just via the forum. (which i generally read via RSS) since it didn't cost me anything to set it up, the calendar is live now, if it doesn't take off - no big deal.

i can imagine blocking off a chunk of time where you 'could' be available, and then any interested parties could come in a block off a chunk of overlapping time (or edit the event) to find a common time to be online. (rinse and repeat to drill down on actual match time) seeing several overlapping chunks would scream xbox live party to me.

forward along emails to get write permissions to the calendar.

I'll go ahead and ask for event access to the calendar. VOTwinStick and I host weekly battles on Wednesday nights from 8 PM EST until Midnight or later. It would be nice to know ahead of time if we have people showing up as I also live stream the matches. These matches may or may not overlap with the Best of 9/Challenge battles if people would like it to do so.

This is great, I'll try and mark down times I can play. The entries automatically get converted to your own timezone in your personal calendar, very handy. Added link to the OP.

I play OMG and VOOT alot. I would play VO4 but my Xbox does not read discs most of the time. Until I get a new Xbox, I won't be on VO4 often. :(

I have added the weekly Force stream to the Oratan calendar. If you would like to participate in the matches please let me know ahead of time so I know. Also if you would like me to host evening streams of OT or OMG, I'll be more than happy to do so.

I've set up a preliminary list for the start of this year, please post any corrections! In any case I'll keep updating it for at least a month from now.

A good idea for a thread. I've been playing a bit more often lately, mostly weekends since that's when JP players are on, but occasionally I've tried going into MP on weekdays.
