Re: Guides or faqs
Oh wow. xD! Don't tempt me. I try to stay away from these type of things. Makes the game so much more than just something to do for fun. Almost like taking it to a professional level or something and that I don't want. Thanks for this though.

I see. Well, I've posted a bit on the Shoryuken forums (the Twin Sticks thread), some on GameFAQs, and that's about it for VOOT besides commenting on miscellaneous forum threads and articles.Davo87 wrote:what I meant was, I stumbled across u in other gaming forums. just dont remember which few ones.

Same here, although it would cost a fortune to buy it now... $400 for each VER.5.66 ROM and $250+ for each VER.5.2 versus city panel. I don't know about the Model 3 boards with VER.5.4 ROMs, but probably not cheap either. Since he/she is in Japan, those cabinets are pretty cheap. If that person bought all the VO stuff at the right time, then it would have been reasonable (VER.5.66 ROMs were once plentiful at $70, and VER.5.2 panels could be found for $50).DarK-SuN wrote:Wow... Pricey, but not unresonably so.

Re: VO Links. Other BBS. Plus some old guides.
Thanks for the links. I think their shipping on a deluxe cabinet would be crazy! Plus I don't know if they could tell you which version you'd be getting (I wouldn't really want a VER.5.2 cabinet). If I had space and money to spare, I'd track down a VER.5.66 cabinet in Japan and arrange shipping myself (i.e. find someone with space for sale on a shipping container from Japan to Los Angeles). This actually wouldn't cost too much, however, I'd rather go with a couple of universal cabinets, to save space and money and get more use out of them.Testament/Seven7 wrote:MentholMoose wrote:Same here, although it would cost a fortune to buy it now... $400 for each VER.5.66 ROM and $250+ for each VER.5.2 versus city panel. 400$ for a 5.66 ROM? Doh!!!
Guess I won't be getting one for a while.
I want one even after getting 5.66 for the 360, because I want my Naomi board to have some good use (plus, I'm a VO nut).

Yup, pricey indeed. During the initial supply glut from many VER.5.66 cabinets being downgraded--err, "converted" to Force, they were about US $70. When those were depleted, they were about $200 for several years. At about the time of the Sega Ages release of OMG, they started hitting $400, and I haven't seen one cheaper for over a year.DarK-SuN wrote:400$ for a 5.66 ROM? Doh!!!

Hopefully with 5.66 for the 360 the price will lower to more reasonable levels.MentholMoose wrote:Yup, pricey indeed. Yeah, it's possible. I haven't seen one for sale since Xbox 360 VOOT has been released, so I'll have to wait until one shows up somewhere. Also, if Sega releases some official Xbox 360 Twin Sticks, maybe the panels will drop back down in price.DarK-SuN wrote:Hopefully with 5.66 for the 360 the price will lower to more reasonable levels.MentholMoose wrote:Yup, pricey indeed.
