Just had this idea for a cheap add-on for my VOOM machine. Right now it has absolutely nothing in the red plastic coin return slots, but here is how it's supposed to look on a VOOM:
Anyway, I was fooling around on KLOV as usual and came across some inspiring things!
That got the ol' wheels turning and now I'm working on making custom coin return buttons with Temjin and Raiden (to match the side art) for Players 1 and 2 respectively. I already have a monochrome Temjin to work with:
And I'm working on making one for Raiden. From there I'll make the custom Red/Black artwork.
So yeah, I'll keep this updated with pics as it progresses!

Re: VOOM "Insert Coin" Customs
Thanks, MentholMoose! I'm glad you like it. And I have a slight update!
Here are the finished designs. The monochrome Temjin line-art I had didn't work very well when shrunken down, but I talked to the guy that made the Street Fighter ones and apparently the best method is to use Threshold on a color image, so I used stock VOOM art of Temjin and Raiden. The bottom part of the picture is full sized, the top is a mock up of about how large they are when they actually print. When put in a coin reject slot, the black will look invisible and the white will glow bright red. I can't wait to try it, and I will when I go home tomorrow (out of town right now) and post pics!
I could also try to make a similar set for VOOT machines, but I doubt they would get much use if the fact I've never seen a VOOT machine in person is any indication @_@

Looking good. Do you happen to have a link to a guide that you followed when creating these?

Re: VOOM "Insert Coin" Customs
Thanks, and I didn't really use a set guide... I took some advice from a KLOV thread (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=139222) to get starting dimensions and a general feel for what is done, though.
Also, I should have them installed tomorrow, sorry for the wait.

It's probably too late too say this, but I can sketch up some ideas if you want. I've been drawing a lot recently, so it'll be no problem.
Examples of unintended hilarity, generously provided by Vash:
"With Geico, you can save thousands of money!"
"I am the only one playing with myself at night."

Thanks. I still need to man up and disassemble the coin door itself though X_X
