Any word on those sticks, or how we can get a pair?

Re: Big Time Tournament
Just a thought: Maybe we can just do cash. That way the winner can decide whether or not to actually purchase the sticks with said cash. We can leave the burden of finding them to the winner, just so we can get this thing off the ground. And I'd be interested in contributing to the prize pool if this is the direction you want to go in.
Any objections?

Things could be a little awkward when actual cash is involved. But for me:

Another suggestion: instead of actual HORI sticks, what say we pay Menthol to mod a pair, sign it, and ship it to the lucky winner?

I don't like the idea of handing out a bunch of money as a pseudo-door prize. Paying Menthol to make a badass mod could work, though. It'd be up to him, obviously, but I'd chip in.

I can mod some, if necessary. However, since the donor Twin Sticks would have to be purchased from Yahoo! Japan Auctions and shipped from Japan, it probably wouldn't be significantly more to just buy some modded Twin Sticks. Regular DC Twin Sticks might go for $75 plus $75 shipping and commission. Add $30 for a donor control pad and $30 for domestic shipping from me to the tournament winner... so about $200. OTOH, modded DC Twin Sticks might go for $140 plus $80 shipping/commission, and they could probably be shipped directly to the winner, so about $220.Schooly D wrote:I don't like the idea of handing out a bunch of money as a pseudo-door prize. I'm on the fence about buying the Hori Twin Sticks. If I chose to buy them next week, then I'll donate my unmodded Saturn Twin Sticks for the tournament.
