Yeah I got a little nostalgic taking the 10/80 SP Temjin out for a spin. I also got a good chuckle when I finally realized he had a White version Sega Saturn strapped to his back as opposed to the Dreamcast backpacks all the other VRs wear :D

I played the game for two hours before I had to take off from work (yep, posting this from work lol), played about 30 minutes of arcade mode and the other hour and a half with a friend of mine who also got the game.

OH MY GOD!!!
Ok, that's my first impression. :D

A bit more indepth now.
The game's fast, the game's solid, Apharmd B is still awesome and Apharmd C is one hell of a contender!

Since I only had two hours of playtime, I used primarily APB, APC and RAIDEN (welcome to my main VR roaster, APC!).

Raiden feels pretty much the same, slightly faster (but then again, the entire game is slightly faster), still pretty solid, the lasers seemed somewhat easier to use to me, either that or I just find it easier to turn in the 360 version of the game because there's dual analogs instead of the way it was in the DC version.

APB is essentially the same, I didn't notice many differences, except that dash CC was easier (might be the dual analogs again, since I could turn mid-dash to better aim the dash CC).

APC plays like a mix of APB with Apharmd from VOOM, the shotgun (RW) is a very good weapon and APC only a tiny bit slower than APB in overall speed.
Melee is inferior to APB, but makes up for it with a considerably superior RW.
In other words, if you want some extra speed, you go APB, but if you want a bit more of fire power, you go APC.
You can throw the actual sword and not just the "energy slash", the actual sword dealing quite a nice amount of damage.

Online play is VERY solid, I didn't notice any sort of lag while playing with my friend, although we're both from Europe, so that most likely helped.
I presume it should be pretty playable for US and EU players to have matches together.
Still didn't catch a JP player, but then again, when I played, it was late in the night for a Japanese player.

That's it for my first impressions!
Back to work now. :P

Should be interesting...but I can't take it too serious without twin sticks

Not too many reviews so far - a pretty cursory one:-

And a slightly shorter (but better) one here:-

edit: too sleepy to sort out the BBCode for the links, sorry

Awesome matches, and you both are really cool guys, it made my horrible Close combat death's much more tolerable.

I'm loving the commando! Punting bombs at random people has never been more fun. And that RW Shot gun.. wow.. I'm been playing since this morning and achieved the first coporal rank with a horrible win/loss ratio, of course I spent a good 1-2 hours in friendly player matches.

So far the online community is better than what I'd expected, no hate mail yet, quite a few GG's, one japanesse reply to my GG, I have no idea what it said. Quite a large VR selection too, although I didn't see a single Bal, I did face a butt load of Angelean, which annoyed me to no end. And I even faced two Ajim's. Unfortunately vs the Ajim's, I was being a punk and just run around hiding until she killed herself. I'm sure it seemed like a **** move to the other players, but, eh.. I had fun and it was a ranked game too, so I guess anything goes.

Looking forward to getting more losses from people on this site, and thanks for everyone who sent me Friend requests.

I see way more Temjins online than anything else. Gryz-Vok also seems to be very popular.

Strangely, I have seen only one other Fei-Yen. I figured she'd be more popular.

wow, it seems like I'm seeing a Fei-yen almost every other ranked match, you know, in between the Angelean's.

Temjin is popular, so his Raiden, only a few Cypher's and hardly any Aphamd of any kind- well besides me of course.

I'm really beginning to think APC might end up being nerfed a bit. His RW just seems really damn solid.

Also, try out Stein's LTCW. I don't think that was in the customization disc.

my xbox360 is 3 months old.
I installed voot last night and started up single player to test it out. As the match started i got my first RROD.
This game must be too advanced for xbox. lolol

I put a huge fan next to my xbox after that and tried again and it ran fine. But it was still pretty scary. I noticed most of my online battles were against an Apharmd VR.

By the way. Has anyone attempted a System Link match? I tried setting up a game with my friend but we couldnt get it going at all. We had both our 360's hooked up to the same router but it wouldn't initiate a match. So we had to connect to live and keep reinviting each other whenever we'd change VR's

Part 1
Part 2

Available in HD. I'm looking for space to dump a 720p60 version, as YouTube only takes 720p30.

Skip the router and run the Cat5 system to system.

evenpar caught me in ranked mode just as my batteries went dead, so I had to track him down and repay the favor!

Some good matches there.

We tried that but it didn't work. We didn't try connecting the cat5 cable directly from 1 xbox to the other though. I'm gunna be with my mate again on friday so i can do this again then.
