as tempting as it is I should probably concentrate on getting my setup restored and settled before I start thinking about upgrades

Here is a pretty cool auction, for a good chunk of an arcade VOOT Ver.5.66 versus setup. Two 5.66 Naomi ROMs and two 5.2 Versus City control panels, plus in-strike cards and manuals. Seller truster11111 started it at ¥4,999 and there are 20 bids so far. EDIT: After three days, 45 bids, and a 3-way bidding war, it sold for an amazing ¥145,000 (US $1,539)!

damn... that would get me a good chunk of the way towards my voot conversion, at least electronically. it'd be a lot cheaper to ship 2 carts than 2 model 3 boards too. I think I may bid on this one.

It also includes two COM boards, and the link cables (Toslink cables).

A couple bidders must really want it. It is currently at ¥121,000 (US $1284.37) with over a day left.

This is exciting! It looks like two people are desperate and causing a bidding war. It's now at 41 bids, ¥131,000 (US $1390.51), and 16 hours left. No way I would bid at this price, though.

It's hard to tell because there are no pics and google translate isn't doing very well with this one but this auction: http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g99099000

I get the impression it's a model 3 VOOT board.

Yeah it sounds like a VOOT ROM with Model 3 board. The details are sparse (is it Ver.5.2, 5.4?) and without photos it is unlikely to get any bids (I personally wouldn't bid).

found a few more

5.66 Cart, starting bid of 25000
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w79622905

5.4 board set with decals, starting bid of 40000
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w78697673

way too much for a model 3 IMO I might bid if it was a 2 board set... maybe it wont sell and it will get re-listed at a lower price.

EDIT: both of these ended with 0 bids... not surprising that the 4.4 board didn't get any but I was pretty surprised that the 5.66 cart didn't even get a minimum bid, especially since that other recent auction with the two carts, com-boards and sticks went for 6 times that amount.

I'm hoping one or both get resisted so I can pick them up at a lower price :)

starting bid of 1000... and pictures of it running

I think I'll bid on this one :)

These have been listed several times over the last few months. I posted the 5.66 ROM in this thread on January 15. The 5.66 ROM isn't selling at a price that is low compared to that 5.66 complete setup because that auction was likely an anomaly. I think two or three people really wanted a complete setup without the hassle of piecing everything together, or they put a lot of value on the extras (in-strike cards, marquees, etc.). Pricing on individual 5.66 ROMs is past the peak of a few years ago (¥30,000+). If the seller dropped them to ¥20,000, I think they would sell quickly.

good to know. If I can pickup a 5.66 cart cheap enough I might bite because I do have a naomi hardware set (minus the cart) already. I think I'm going to go with 5.4 boards for my machine though since I wont have to modify the monitors... between that and the 5.4 boards being cheaper I'll probably save quite a bit and get my VOOT Arcade fix.

Yup, you're right... they ended with 0 bids and now they've been re-listed... same exact price as before...

That's a shame, I'd snag that 5.4 board if it was at a reasonable price.

Only 1 day left on other board I'm scoping... I'm probably going to wait until there is only a few hours left before I place my bid. What do you think is the going rate for a 5.4 board? I was thinking to expect it to end about 15,000 give or take.
