VOOT SIMULATION PODS!?
I thought I knew everything there was to know about VO on the arcade front, but it seems like I overlooked one detail.
I have dreamed about this machine, I kid you not. I knew that somewhere in my heart it had to exist. A fan I talked too once told me he played one and I laughed and told him it must be Battletech he was thinking of.

I crapped bricks
Maybe it was just a prototype or something... but I'm GOING to find where it is.

I remember seeing this mentioned over at Virtual-on Fan (site's dead now, you know, the site with the Wassup parody video?), which also specified the location, which I forgot. Looks cool as hell though.

Its called "Virtual On Special", available at Umeda Joypolice in 98 and moved to Shinjuku Joypolice in 99.
Yes, the pod moves like when you dash, jump and be knocked down.
Actually, not so many people liked it because the pod shakes and it makes you feel like you Drunk in the car.
I had no chance to play it but many of my friends played and non of them liked it.
The MSBS version was Ver.5.2.

Considering the amount of jump/dash cancels in a round, they're probably right

Shinjuku Joypolis closed, though... wonder where it is now? It's not on their main Tokyo website. Maybe it's in an old warehouse somewhere waiting to be found by a crazy collector

Oh yeah... I remember reading about this. I never saw any pictures, though. It was only described it as having "force feedback," which I figured meant that it only vibrated when you got hit or something. This is a dang cool piece of Virtual-On history, and I hope it get rediscovered somewhere!

yeah me too, and maybe someone would find it and make some adjustments on the force feedback, to make the shaking less intense, but still enough to feel like you're actually piloting a VR
