Amazon has the StarTech PEXHDCAP capture card for $95.99. Combine with the recent $5 off $35 Facebook promotion and pay with a qualifying AMEX card for a $25 statement credit to drop the price as low as $65.99 with free shipping. I bought one to replace my dead Blackmagic Intensity Pro.

This is a rebranded Micomsoft SC-500N1 and can use the Micomsoft drivers - but at a much lower price! It's a very versatile capture card, but it is particularly useful for capturing from video game systems, from the latest HDMI-equipped consoles to older ones with VGA or component out, and apparently even RGB out from arcade games. Check this Shmups thread for details: Micomsoft SC-500N1 RGB Capture Card
  • Versatile multi-input PCI Express card offers HDMI, DVI, VGA and Component audio-video ports
  • Full 1080p capture support delivers crystal clear, high-definition video recordings
  • Capture video from HDMI, DVI, VGA, or Component input sources
  • Supports HDMI or 2-channel RCA stereo audio
  • Full 1080p Video Capture
  • MPEG 4 and H.264 encoding
  • NTSC and PAL systems supported
  • Still image capture supported

Toys "R" Us via eBay has the Skylanders SWAP Force Limited Edition Nintendo Wii U Bundle for $220 with free shipping. This is the best price I've seen for the Wii U. If you're not into the game, sell it for $40-50 on eBay.

Here's a cheap wired controller that seems like it might be good for modding. It has a stick but I think it is digital.

If you don't mind dealing with rebates you can get a wired Xbox 360 controller for FREE from TigerDirect.

This is exactly what I need for my Xbox 360 but I am scared of the rebate. I've never done them successfully before, though I know other people that do them regularly. And what is up with being paid in a reward card? Is that going to be real money or is it forcing me to buy more stuff from them?

Valid 01/01/2014-01/31/2014
This rebate MUST be postmarked within 30 days of purchase.
This rebate is in USD currency and may be paid with a prepaid reward card.
Credit card required for activation and rebate. Cancel at any time

edit: I looked into this a little more and the gift card payment seems okay to me, but the bigger issue seems to be that you have to install (or at least activate) the included worthless security software on a PC and in the process provide that company with your credit card information. Not a bad opportunity if you want to jump through all the hoops but it's probably not for me.

Many rebates are paid with prepaid credit cards nowadays. They can be used anywhere that accepts cards from that issuer (American Express, Visa, etc.). I think rebate processors switched to these from checks in order to avoid laws that apply to checks and not prepaid cards. In practice receiving a prepaid credit card is not usually a problem. The main problem I've had is that some POS devices don't seem to handle them correctly so a charge is occasionally declined. I usually use these cards to buy groceries since I know they work fine at the grocery stores near my house.

Anyway this deal might be too much of a hassle considering the Total Defense thing. I just thought I'd give a heads up.

Rakuten (via eBay) has the Microsoft Xbox 360 Chat Pad and Microphone for $15 with FREE shipping. From what I've understand they are genuine and new, but not in a retail box.

I have a chat pad I got for free from the original owner of my $100 fat (Jasper) Xbox 360. But I never used it. I also declined to take the microphone that came with it but I regret it now because I could have used it. I had thought that I would never talk online when I got my Xbox. I indeed never talked at first but neoken had been the first guy to tell me I have to talk in VO.

I still tend not to talk in games in general, especially in any game that is not VO. Everyone in those games always wants to talk to me because they think I'm a girl haha.

I like hearing other people talk though usually. Especially the little kids they are really funny. They usually say stuff like "This girl is too hard" or "We all need to gang up on this girl and beat her up" or "I can't believe all three of us are hiding in this room because we are scared of one girl."

This deal is not exactly gaming-related but it can be used to get about five bucks off of a purchase at Amazon. They are selling the ASUS WL-ANT151 high-gain antenna for $4.41, and after a $10 rebate it will be -$5.59.

It's an Add-on Item so you need to buy it with something else with a total order of $25. The rebate is here:

The Wii U Skylanders bundle is down to $199.99 on eBay.

I might have bought this at this price since recently I was seriously considering buying a Wii U for Mario Kart 8, but my kart game fix has been effectively satisfied by Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

A brother on Twitter asked me to contact those that might be interested in his Sega Saturn Twin Sticks posted on Ebay. $75.00 (shipped!) from LA is a good deal! I still have too many sticks laying in-wait.
