Hey everyone, I created this forum on December 13, 2008, exactly 10 years ago today!! I started the first thread two days later: Welcome VO fans. The timing was fortuitous, with Xbox 360 VOOT being announced the following February, triggering an influx of activity here. Several Virtual-On ports have since been released, with more to come, and just recently, finally, a new game was added to the series.
After 10 years, we've started 800 threads and written almost 12,000 posts. Activity has ebbed and flowed, and people have come and gone, but I am so glad for the discussions here, the countless hours of online game sessions and tournaments, and several offline meetups and tournaments! It will always be a small community but I have greatly enjoyed being a part of it. Thanks!!
17 year anniversary!

Re: 16 year anniversary!
Activity is still pretty high in general, I think people just started talking more on other formats and less on here (I like forums better myself). Western activity has lessened greatly, only a couple players who play regularly. It's good to take breaks of varying lengths.
My VOOM knowledge has advanced significantly but I've never really written it down anywhere. Even though I haven't played much for the past 6 years, I also have learned a number of things in VOOT but not been writing it down. I hope I can get around to these things someday.
I'm particularly bad at remembering things, so even though I've been around since the series was released, I don't remember a lot of what I did, and what websites were active when. Someday it might be interesting to try to compile a history of western VO activities.

Re: 17 year anniversary!
Wanting to make an account here to wish everyone here well is how I figured out I somehow already had made an account back in 2018 but for some reason never posted here.
I've been getting back into Virtual-On recently (although unfort I don't have a Xbox 360, so I'm playing on PC thru emus) and wanted to not only express how cool it is that this has been here for so long (like a time capsule of Virtual-On enjoyers outside of Japan that I missed out) but also to thank all here who have posted useful Virtual-On info. I've been looking recently at some stuff for Force (guide, mission mode) because there's straight up no other place where I could find any English translated in-depth info of those in Force (closest thing would be a huge page in GameFAQs for MARZ, but I know that's its own downscaled game running with Force's gameplay).
Maybe someday I'll get to unlock Jag in Force to mess around and see how insane it is to use when I saw a video showing it has the same thick armor and high damage as when it is a boss.
Related to VOOT, I was doing some research and could confirm that Ajim does unlock in XBLA/PS4 with just the encounter, the DC version specifically requires you to defeat Ajim by KO to unlock it (and be in a year past 2000 for it to be selectable lol). This leaves the NAOMI 5.66 version the only one where I'm not sure how to have Ajim enabled, unless it happens to be with a month of playtime like the 5.2/5.4 version is said to have...but can be bypassed with a year higher than 1999.

Re: 17 year anniversary!
What Jaguarandi video is that? The playable Jaguarandi in Force is small and not the same character as the boss one. Unless you use edits, but I don't think that was ever uploaded to a video.
I don't recall the criteria to unlock Ajim in each of the game versions, sorry.
