Hm. I thought when I said I deleted my flowchart posts, it should've followed that I deleted all flowchart-related responses too. neoKEN didn't make a flowchart-related post, though, so the posts I removed were:

- My post with PPX's flowchart
- PPX's response to my flowchart
- My response to PPX's response
- Shamanic Beat's response to PPX's response

I deleted them because PPX took it as a cheap joke at his expense rather than a good-natured ribbing. In hindsight it became apparent that it was more like the former and less like the latter, and that PPX was right to take offense since he was the only one singled out. I also didn't like some of the possible directions that line of discussion could've taken, so I wantonly abused my moderator privs and nipped it in the bud.

Note that this does not affect our nightly "Analyzing and Formalizing PPX" roundtable over in the IRC chat room, every night at 10:00PM EST.

Didn't know Schooly was a mod. That explains it.

FWIW, I only ever saw Schooly's original flowchart post, and not the responses, but I took it as being a good-natured ribbing. It certainly was no SFIV Ken flowchart. :P

Anyway, yesterday was a good VOOT day. In addition to my usual weekend morning ranked matches, I had some ggs with chasiumen, Zaarock, and Shamanic in the afternoon and Aniking, PPX, Shamanic, and Schooly at night! For some reason I had serious issues hitting A and B simultaneously last night, resulting in a dumbass Stein-Vok that shot various CW variants into walls instead of launching magnet balls.

I had some lag fighting against you yesterday and had similar problems. Annoying when cypher doesnt shoot LTCW out on landing frame and instead freezes doing nothing, and I have to repeat the jump cancel.. same with my usual RW usage, it seems to just make me die if the game is lagging a lot. Whats worst is if the lag level varies a lot, completely messes up my rhythm eg. if it happens when I'm doing some cqc techniques and then quick jump cancels and jump dashes wont register.

ggs with Teuska, DeltastrikeX, Chasiumen and Daverudolph yesterday.

For me, I don't think it was the lag, though. I wasn't even consistently wrong, sometimes I'd shoot the standing CW, sometimes the rings (cCW), and sometimes the quad laser (RTCW). I probably just need to practice, since I have to change my normal grip just slightly to hit all those buttons simultaneously.

Maybe the wise thing to do would be to actually use those twin sticks I splurged on. :?

Lots of good games with Teuska(he got a friend to buy the game actually), chasiumen, DeltastrikeX and Daverudolph again. Noticed I had a great replay of fighting PPX from a few days back and uploaded that.

Oh yeah dave, I only just now noticed that you were talking about problems doing a crouch turbo move. I have LB and RB set to crouch+turbos respectively so I would just need to do RB + LS(I have CW set to LS). Rotation for lb and rb might be better in some cases but I think I've already enough to deal with with my jump cancel and dash cancel spamming for the right thumb :P I think my LB setup also speeds up my vulcan usage even more.

I wish I had some recording equipment to put up videos of replays online, could show friends from other gaming communities what the game is like etc.

Alternatively, try setting CrLT and CrRT to the analog stick buttons.

I have RT on RS for quick turning while jumping, very rarely use it though.

GGs with Teuska, NGEFreek, Alaric and Aniking today. Played like 3 hours with aniking in the end, against all his characters and managed to get a few wins. The fights against his raiden were probably the most hectic, I uploaded the only win I got against it to the leaderboards. I think I improved a lot through those matches.

Nope, that was on purpose. All the warning signs of an incoming Surfing Ram were there:

- Temjin is losing by a lot of health
- Time is running out
- Temjin is trying to close the distance without firing anything

Your insta-surfboard at the beginning of one of those rounds was a surprise, though.

I blame Vash. His bad habits are rubbing off on me.

And one more thing: got any tips on shooting a Cypher out of the sky?

Wait until he's on the ground. He has to come down at some point, right?

But seriously, trying to pick off Cypher while he's in the air is not a smart game plan. In some odd situations you can make a Big Two shot hit Cypher during an air dash attack but generally it's not something you can replicate. The most successful strategy I've seen for Temjin is to get close to Cypher, then when Cypher air dashes away, follow and wait for him to land where you punish him with some fwd or fwdiag RW variant. Getting close without taking damage can be rough if you haven't learned how to position yourself in-between his daggers, though.

Actually, that's not the most successful strategy I've seen. The most successful one seems to be hitting Cypher from long range with attacks that would normally be very weak but against Cypher do good damage, then running behind cover.

Heh. I recently taught Vash how to use the insta-surfboard, and he seems very pleased with it. I told him it's something he should learn, but should hope to never have to use, sort of like martial arts.

Well, he got the "learn" part right. If Vash's antics are rubbing off on you, then I guess you really have me to blame.

Before I forget, high-fives to Shamanic Beat and Mechazoidal. The matches I played with Shaman were so close and my match with Mechazoidal was very amusing.

Good games to Schooly_D, Shamanic Beat, Doom Hunter, Vash, cheapocrespo, Dancee Foo, Zaarock, FruitieDinosaur, Monterrey1021. It was a surprise to see that half of the people I never met before. Also that's a good thing. New blood is always good for the scene. We end up playing until 2 AM (pacific) with 6 people!

Zaarock & Shamanic got noticeably better while Cheapocrespo & Dancee Foo improved a lot the same day. I haven't played for months so I don't really know what I am doing anymore with Bal-bados. I am slow :(. I got until April 5th to play since that's when the free XBL ends.
VR: Bal-bados, Angelan, ALL.
