I ordered another $25 gift card from GameStop.com. This time I got a gift of a $25 statement credit the next time I spend $25 at GameStop.com. Not too bad I guess.

Target has $10 off $50. It's not exactly gaming-related, but Target does carry video games (I bought my Xbox 360 there). You can use it for gift cards so if you can't find a good deal right now, you can just get some gift cards and wait.

Re: Deals thread
This turned out to be pretty good. You could buy a $50 Target gift card to get the $10 bonus gift card, then use that to buy whatever you want and get ANOTHER $10 bonus gift card (so for every $50 you spent out of pocket, you got $20 in Target gift cards).MentholMoose wrote:Target has $10 off $50. I've heard it works well for what it does. Basically as good as most computer tables, just for consoles. Not much support for it yet though sadly.

I never knew Mad Catz made keyboards. Anyone know if they're any good?
Tanga.com is selling it pretty cheap ($8.99 + $5.99 shipping) so it should be a good deal assuming it's a decent keyboard.

Re: Deals thread
If you do any PC gaming and need a lot of disk space, you might not have upgraded to an SSD yet. If so, I highly recommend upgrading since larger SSDs have really dropped in price and are approaching $0.50/GB now. A 240 or 256 GB SSD can comfortably fit Windows 7 plus several games and programs. Here are some current deals:
Newegg.com - ADATA Premiere Pro SP900 256 GB - $149.99 AR

Amazon.com - SanDisk Extreme SSD 240 GB - $168.64

Amazon.com - Corsair Force 3 240 GB - $169.99

Amazon.com - OCZ Vertex 4 256 GB - $189.99 (5 year warranty)

Note that some newer SSDs using the LSI Sandforce chipset have TRIM problems. It can be fixed by a firmware update, but not all manufacturers have fixed their drives yet (such as the SanDisk Extreme).

Re: Deals thread
I hate Tekken and don't even know the buttons but I play it sometimes as a dress-up game.
Using a trick I learned with Soul Calibur 5 and Final Fantasy 13-2, I pre-ordered TTT2 from amazon and canceled immediately. By doing this you may get for free the pre-order exclusive DLC and any other gift certificate coupons that may exist (at this time I don't believe there were any for TTT2 though).
I eventually got both Soul Calibur 5 and Final Fantasy 13-2 for free or negative money due to abusing stuff like this.
I pre-ordered and canceled several times to "make money" and later bought the games for real when they became dirt cheap (around $10) which didn't take long.
I'm such a cheapo bastard because I have kind of grown disillusioned with the current generation of gaming. DLC in particular pisses me off. And I still haven't paid a cent for my XBL Gold, having used 2 free month offers, before recently learning of the easy way to get infinite 48-hour codes for free.
I shelled out big bucks for VO Force Memorial Box plus DLC boob codes though, due to having learned about their existence only very recently. I guess it just boils down to what you think is worth it. Although that doesn't explain why I've spent insane dollars on clothes for my Xbox avatar (which caused everyone on XBL to think I'm a girl)...

Newegg has the Hauppauge Colossus capture card with HDMI input for $99.99 after $30 rebate. This is cheaper than the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro. HDMI input gives you utterly pristine captures with pixel-perfect video and bit-perfect audio.

Hauppauge Colossus
Some info from the Hauppauge Colossus product page.

Hauppauge Colossus
Some info from the Hauppauge Colossus product page.
Colossus records HDMI video from PC gaming systems in HD, plus can record HDMI directly from an Xbox 360 or from a PS3 using Component Video input. Click here to see a review of Colossus published at Total PC Gaming.
Colossus also records Component Video (YCrCb) from cable TV and satellite set top boxes, with a built-in IR blaster to automatically change TV channels for scheduled recordings.
With the Colossus HDMI input port, you can record HD video at up to 1080i from any un-encrypted HDMI source!
Note: Unencrypted HDMI comes from the Xbox 360 plus most video cameras. Most cable and satellite TV set top boxes encrypt HDMI output, so you cannot record from these sources.
Audio is recorded using two channel stereo or optical audio with five channel Dolby AC3. The optical audio for AC3 is a passthrough: whatever format AC3 comes in gets recorded (and also output through the optical output connector).
The recording format is AVCHD, which can be used to burn Blu-ray compatible DVD disks. Two hours of HD recordings, recorded at 5 Mbits/sec, can be burnt onto a standard 4.7 GByte DVD-R or DVD-RW disk for playback on a Blu-ray DVD player.
