Apparently they did a 12000 person survey on Virtual On. Check out the official site for more information: http://vo-ot360.sega.jp/col_p.html

1) You age

When they say "Top 20", are they referring purely to the design aesthetics of each VR?

I think it's your overall favorite. This is how forum member Jumbo translated the question in his survey translation/guide:
2-1) Throughout your play history of the Virtual On Series, which Virtualiod is your favorite?

Man, Dorkas and Belgdor are way down there :o. Lol I loved doing CC with Dorkas, especially the crouch Phalanx where it explodes at point blank and screws up my opponent who is doing a circle attack.

ORATAN is the overwhelming favorite. No surprises there. Hope this sends a clear message to the developers if/when they start a future Virtual On project.

Question: How do you know about Virtual-On series?

RIGHT BLUE - ARCADE or CONSUMER GAME TITLES
RED - PLASTIC MODELS or MODEL FIGURES
YELLOW - NOVELS and STORIES from MAGAZINE
GREEN - SUPER ROBOT WARS
BLUE - ANYTHING ELSE

Im worried about if my translation is not correct.

Based on the feedback, they've seen four definite trends of desirability:

1. Player vs Player format (including multi vs multi)
2. High speed action
3. Feature interface (Twin Sticks)
4. Hajime Katoki's mecha designs

and they promised to take into account these "four pillars" when thinking of designing a new Virtual On game

A couple things that stood out to me:

The majority of respondents want the next Virtual On title to be on the Xbox 360 (with the PS3 and PC taking a much distant second and third)... isn't Virtual On a niche-enough title as it is? =P

When giving a sample of personal responses from the questionnaire they included one in english:
"I would prefer Virtual On to keep a similar play style as a robot fighting game. If the creators wish to make a new style of game, I would prefer that it be done with an original franchise instead of Virtual On"

when I look online on xbl all the top players from japan basically only have voot on their gamercards. Maybe they need some more games for their voot machine

Them and Menthol, basically.

But it's the only game you need!
