A Certain Magical Index x Virtual-On Crossover Novel
Too lazy to type it up so here is a link to a garbage site.

Basically, generic light novel trash gets mixed up with Virtual On because reasons.
I wonder if the visors would be replaced with Virtual On styled ones.

Re: A Certain Magical Index x Virtual-On Crossover Novel
I thought you were talking about some fan fiction but it's real. That's weird. Maybe they are planning to make a Virtual-On anime. They can use the people from that show as pilots. Although I would prefer it if the robots themselves are sentient like old Transformers cartoons. I don't understand why all shows need to have humans in them.
Oh, now I see why you said that is a garbage site. Yeah that site sucks. I got banned there a decade ago.

J.C. Staff is probably never animating a season 3 and SEGA is never making a new game.
This is their compromise.

Twinstick (not VOTwinstick) translated a plot overview and a few other things that Watari tweeted.

Kamachi's VR choices for each character listed should make sense to people who actually like this kind of stuff.
...like me.

The book is surprisingly thick, ain't it?
Some high school girls. An important staple of the light novel format.
I guess this is Katoki's involvement with the project.
More to come as new material surfaces whether you like it or not.

Pretty sure the Specineff is Accelerator's.
Baka-Tsuki has scans and a translated prologue. Only part of Chapter 1 is translated, though.

Raiden confirmed to have been designed for cheerleaders. That Cypher looks silly. Interesting that everything is based on oratan designs even though katoki worked on VO4/marz too and they liked to promote temjin 747 a lot.

funky wording with the "too" there, zaa :P
what I found interesting is the VO4/Marz-style V-converters on the OraTan designs. I don't expect Dreamcast-shaped ones at this point but I thought they'd at least be covered.

Kinda funny that everyone gets their own custom VR except for the dude who got plain ol' Temjin.

And it's a 707 series Temjin, too.
The presence of 3rd generation V-Converters on 2nd gen VRs asides from the Temjin 707...Might it be possible to adapt other 2nd gen VRs for 3rd gen standards?
Oh, and I read on TwinStick@CIS' tweets concerning this crossover, that L'ln Plajiner arrives in Academy City as a new student. Also, the only other Cypher to use a solid blade instead of an energy-based one, was Sylvie Fang's RVR-44/2000 Cypher-2000 "FairBianca".

Re: A Certain Magical Index x Virtual-On Crossover Novel
reminds me of another interesting thing. if I can trust machine translations even a little, Watari talked about the hypothetical version of Virtual-On they're playing in the novel. uses oratan as a base (vr design/selection + gamespeed), but removes the left turbo function and allows for both 1v1 and 2v2 play.Temjin747K wrote:The presence of 3rd generation V-Converters on 2nd gen VRs asides from the Temjin 707...Might it be possible to adapt other 2nd gen VRs for 3rd gen standards?
I don't think any of those tweets are linked so I just dug them up if anyone can actually read Japanese.
