VOOT LADDER!

First thing's first: I registered http://www.virtualon.org. Certainly not trying to steal anyone from this forum or anything, but in the future I would like VO.org to develop into an english VO site with actual content! Pictures! Information! Things! But there's nothing there right now so don't stare too long at it.

What I'm more concerned with right now is the ladder system I'm trying to implement. You can see the current test version I have up here:

Essentially the only way this thing could have enough activity to work is if we opened it up to the Japanese populace, since we don't have enough people in our community (who would care to compete) to keep it going.

So how can I help you, Schooly?

Well since I'm knee-deep in exams, those of you willing to do so could help with some writing. Here's what I need:

Actually, If you give me something to read about what you had in mind for rules. I would consider doing the description of the rules and could come up with a few ideas for rules myself.
This is a nice idea because connecting the Japanese and US/International VOOT communities would be great. Even though the Japanese will stomp all over our asses and laugh at our imperfections ... We still love you Japanese players

I got a message from a Japanese player the other day regarding my profile (in which I apologize for the lag while playing Japanese players). I made that profile because sometimes I'll get a challenge from a Japanese player, I'll accept, then they'll take a long time to accept... I just have this mental image of some guy in Japan seeing the gray or 1-bar connection symbol next to my name and thinking "oh... damn it" and grudgingly accepting.

Anyway, here is the message I got:

Please don't worry about lag in playing VOOT. But many players (at least I) will prefer that VOOT gets more popularity in many countries besides Japan. Let's enjoy this masterpiece. I apologize for my poor English and this sudden message.

I thought that was kind of cool. I'm not sure why he apologized for his English, it's better than most Americans on XBL.

Well the ladder is officially underway and it looks like everything is working perfectly!
