Hello,
I was finally be able to get a hold of the Keiō Saturn to PSX Converter and it works great with any PSX compatible Virtual On game even though I just tested it on VOOT LIVE: Arcade.
I ordered the adapter from http://keio.dk/converters.html and it comes with a configuration for Virtual On Sticks.
All you have to do is press down on the right stick before plugging in the adapter to the PSX port and the adapter is configured for Virtual On. Not to brag but I was a beta tester for another adapter and helped out to configure the new Keiō adapters.
The bad news is that he has closed shop until April, so the wait would be longer if you just found out about these adapters.
I played some practice mode as I woke up and now just busy typing up this post before heading back to sleep. I wonder if anybody else obtained these adapters from these forums?
Good news, I can use my Saturn Twin Stick on the Xbox 360

So, it's a saturn to PSX adapter?
Which means, in order to go 360, it has to be run through yet another adapter, right?
At which point, i'm sure there will be "some" inherent input lag. Perhaps not enough to affect someone who sucks (ie: me), but i'm sure i'll be noticable to any high-level players.
Just a thought. Running something through so many conversions is bound to experiance lag, even if it's just miliseconds.

There is no lag that I know of but I could test it using Colac's program mentioned from Shoryuken.com. The Saturn to PSX adapter is a 1:1 conversion process since the Saturn controller is a digital input. Also, I am using the Xconverter for the 360 side of things.
Like I mentioned, I am using world class adapters for this task

I assume the Start button on the Saturn sticks gets mapped to Back for special moves?
In the pics for the 360 adapter I see them plugging a PS2 joystick and a 360 wired controller into the adapter. What's the point of the 360 controller? I see the adapter itself has a Guide button, so that's already taken care of. Maybe it's so you could use a mic?
Could be very cool... although I just broke down a few days ago and bought modded Saturn sticks on YAJ!

This is because the 360 controllers have a security chip in them. Only one company has found a way to bypass the need for this (google the mayflash arcade stick). In order for any controller to work on the 360 it needs that security chip, hence, why you need to plug in a licensed controller to that adapter.DeepInTheHops wrote:

If you were a beta tester, why didnt you suggest a switch instead of that inconvenient method of detecting the stick at startup?

Hmmm... I wonder how well this would work with an XFPS.

Hi guys. I am the developer of the SAT>PSX converter mentioned in this thread. Hi Matarick and thanks for the support
To answer a few questions, yes you do need a second converter to use on the 360. The ones I sell have been tested by myself and others to have no input lag when used with my SAT>PSX converters. I play Ikaruga and Street Fighter with them and don't notice any problems, although I will admit I'm no uber-l33t player myself...
Just a word of warning that I will be bumping the price a bit in the next few months due to increased component costs and the likely increase in VAT (sales tax) here in the UK. As a special offer I'll guarantee the current prices on converters for anyone who is a registered user on this forum before today (03/06/2010). The 360 converters I can't price-protect I'm afraid.
I am working on an XBOX 360 native solution. It isn't going to be easy but it is possible. I have been experimenting with my own system but it's a lot of work so I have been contacting some Chinese companies about licensing their technology.
If anyone has any questions just ask. The only thing I can think of adding is that once you have set the converter into VON mode it stays that way until you change it again so you only have to hold down the stick once. After that it's just plug-and-play. If you mention it when ordering I can set it to VON mode before sending it to you.
Oh, and as for the XFPS I have one here and have tested it. It's laggy as hell so I can't recommend it. The ones I sell are a lot cheaper anyway. Other cheap ones on eBay work too but I only guarantee the ones I sell to have been fully tested and lag-free.
