See, the problem with that setup is that it really doesn't do anything. All of the existing posts will just get moved to the VO General section, the one or two threads not related to VO will get divided into the other two, and we'll still have the clutter.

I'll wait for whatever changes are made before I post my "Timed or Untimed Matches?" thread.

This forum is hardly cluttered. Cluttered is when threads less than a day old drop to the 2nd page of the topic index.

I'm not really fond of splitting threads into different subforums as it just means that I have to check multiple subforums in order to stay current.

yeah but we have about 8+ topics discussing the same thing, if it was split then we could look at what interests us the most instead of wading through ever-changing topics.

I like these categories, with the exception of the whole Strategy and Information section. Firstly, I don't think each game warrants its own sub-section since no one really talks about OMG, Force or Marz. But more importantly, I think the whole section would be redundant and would have significant overlap with the VO General sub-section.

So, I guess my organization would look the same as it did, but removing the "5.66 for XBLA" sub-section.

EDIT: Maybe we should have some XBL-specific sub-section. When the game is released for XBLA, I can definitely see some value in having a place to look for a match, share Gamertags, etc. So, maybe it could look like this:

Uh oh. So what's it going to be? XD! Personally i'm with my fellow Cypher pilot here...not every game warrants its own sub category[because we all know OT is the best of them all lol]. How about something along these lines?

- Not too sure what to do about this part...don't really want to group it by game, but how else could you do it? By Vr would be one hell of a chore, lol

I can't think of all the things to put in these subforums. XD! This would be quite a task. But really we've got...what around 30 topics active. Just anything to make that less per page would be great, IMO.

I definitely don't want to end up with inactive subforums, and I don't want people to have to check several subforums to get to the important topics.

I'm thinking a "Projects" subforum is good, to accomodate the various modding threads. Once the VOOT for Xbox 360 is released, it would probably remain active, at least for a while. Even if it does die way down, it might be good to have these threads segmented for future reference.

A "Media" subforum also sounds good, but really there aren't many threads right now that would fit. I guess it might be OK since people could create their own threads for their own content, instead of using existing threads (e.g. people are currently sharing their videos in my videos thread). Also I can add something related to it, maybe collectibles, to clear out some additional threads from General. What do you guys think?

There doesn't seem to be much discussion of strategy, so I'll hold off on a dedicated subforum for that. When the game is released, this type is discussion might pick up, so I can re-evaluate this later.

I thought about having an Xbox 360 VOOT release subforum, since there are several threads specific to this. However, once the game is released (supposedly sometime this month), I suspect those threads would die off and such a subforum may become inactive. Once the game is out, I don't think people will care anymore about those several topics, and it's OK if they fall off the General forum.

What does everyone think?

Good point, I didn' think about that. Since there are currently only a few threads specific to VOOT on Xbox 360, it might be best to keep them in General for now. When the game is released, and the need arises to set up matches, share Gamertags, etc., I can add such a subforum, and easily move the few currently related threads.

So for now, this is the structure I'm thinking:

Virtual-On
- General
- Projects
- Media, Collectibles??

Once the game is released, maybe add "VOOT 360 Community" and "Strategy".
