Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
Here are a couple of pics of what I have so far... this is a pair of Saturn Twin Sticks, modded with new wiring and a connector that I will connect to a modded Xbox 360 controller. The controller I ordered should be here any day now, so I will possibly have this working sometime next week (although I'm not sure when I'll buy a 360 console, which is necessary to verify functionality). Anyway, stay tuned!!
This shows the PCB with new wiring attached. This shows the wiring as well as the new controller.

Re: Modded Saturn Twin Sticks for Xbox 360 - in progress
heh. all the best. The twinsticks alone is virtually scarce. Luckily 360 have dual analogue, so all hopes its workable. The only qualm I had back then in DC version, is I cannot remap controller buttons. Hopefully they allow this in 360 version. If the 360 dual analogue dont function as twin sticks, there's small chance the mod would work.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. Hopefully SEGA will release official Twin Sticks for Xbox 360. Anyway, a lot of people already have Twin Sticks, so they can build custom Twin Sticks very cheaply.Davo87 wrote:heh. all the best. The twinsticks alone is virtually scarce.
I don't think it's suitable for high level play, although it might depend on the VR and play style. I think a control pad will almost always be a disadvantage, and I won't be playing VOOT without Twin Sticks.Davo87 wrote:Luckily 360 have dual analogue, so all hopes its workable.
According to the latest update, it will be allowed.Davo87 wrote:The only qualm I had back then in DC version, is I cannot remap controller buttons. Hopefully they allow this in 360 version.
Actually this is unnecessary for the mod to function, all that's required is a suitable control scheme using the Xbox 360 control pad digital buttons. The latest news confirms that custom Twin Sticks will be possible, similar to the PS2 releases. The left stick will be controlled by the directional pad, right stick by A/B/X/Y, and the other buttons are configurable.Davo87 wrote:If the 360 dual analogue dont function as twin sticks, there's small chance the mod would work.

The Xbox 360 controller I ordered has yet to arrive, and I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow, so this will be postponed for a few more days. However, I will probably end up modding DC Twin Sticks first, since I seem to have found and ordered the necessary connectors.

well it is still possible to play with the controller, it's just a mess though and takes much longer to get used to.MentholMoose wrote:Corrected.circuscommando wrote:eh i prefer twin sticks, makes it playable.

I was mostly kidding around, although I think high level play requires sticks.circuscommando wrote:well it is still possible to play with the controller, it's just a mess though and takes much longer to get used to.

Fixed that for you. I don't need Twin Sticks to make my Cypher avoid your missile-spamming.MentholMoose wrote:I was mostly kidding around, although I think high level Grys-Vok play requires sticks.

I don't know about that. Also, the spamming is only part of the game plan.evenpar123 wrote:Fixed that for you. I don't need Twin Sticks to make my Cypher avoid your missile-spamming.MentholMoose wrote:I was mostly kidding around, although I think high level Grys-Vok play requires sticks.

Oh, it's on, buddy. Just because you're the national champion and I've never played anyone who knew what the controls were, you think you're cock of the walk. Well I've got news for you: I'm really good at Halo, and that's like the same thing.MentholMoose wrote:I don't know about that. Well I haven't played competitively in about 7 years, so who knows how I'll do.evenpar123 wrote:Oh, it's on, buddy. Hahahah! You two are killing me. xD! Cypher's what im talking about though man. Nothing beats a transfigurable mech...come on. This is why I wish I had a 360. Only for this. VO + Non-AI Competition. All i've ever wanted.evenpar123 wrote:Fixed that for you. Cypher is cool, although this isn't transformers, so I'm not sure about transfigurableness (sp?) being all that useful. There was a good Cypher player in Socal, although IIRC he was mainly into the Socal style (e.g. strong emphasis on CC). I'll see if I can get in touch with him, to see if he's still interested the game.RVR - 42 wrote:Hahahah! You two are killing me. xD! Cypher's what im talking about though man. Hahah well see the trick is to wow your opponent with the awesome of Cypher's transfigurableness* lol. But this guy you speak of was into CC? That's awesome. Cypher's blade only makes himk cooler. Since discovering how to Swallow's Tail[is that the correct technique name...the one where you can use your CC without having double lock] I go around slicing up everything with Cy. lol But yea man...get in touch with this dude. =P
